It's definitely a great record.

I know it's predictable but War Pigs. The lyrics. The vocal delivery. The imagery. The message. The structure. It can't be beat.

I have no idea why I've never particularly liked "War Pigs". It just never quite clicked with me, even though it's gotten better for me over the years. I'd say "Faeries Wear Boots" might actually be the best song from that album.

Generals gathered in their masses
Just like witches at black masses
General minds that plot bad masses
Symphony of death in masses
In the fields the bloody masses
As the war machine kills masses
Death and hatred for the masses
Poisoning the brainwashed masses
Oh lord ja!

Ozzy's cool, but I don't particularly like the riffs. They're kind of dull when they're trying to channel the same kind of thing from "Black Sabbath" at the beginning, and even when the song picks up it still feels tepid throughout. Ozzy definitely carries that song for me.

I get what you mean in the masses. Out of all the songs on Paranoid, it definitely sounds the most tired, like the masses. However, I have to say that the drumming is badass as the masses.

It makes me hard when we agree.

Snowblind may be my fave BS song ever.

I don't know Heavy Metal enough to criticize the list. It looks like it has the same four bands over and over with a bunch of odds and ends thrown in to boot. However the list has the best of both worlds. It has Def Leppard - Pyromania and Napalm Death - FETO they should both be tie for 1st place, and bring balance to the force.

I agree, Volume 4 is a bit of a slog fest and is my least favourite out of the big 6.

"deep dish" as in extremely introverted & introspective (as in preferring music as background noise like Miles Davis and John Coltrane) than yes I can see that.

Volume 4 doesn't have any memorable guitar riffs. Sweet Leaf and Into the Void is enough to throw Master of Reality near the top for me.
