Interesting, I think the album and atmosphere are crazy engrossing and anything but dull. I guess there isn't much deviation once it establishes its sound, but it's a dope sound imo so that's not really a problem.

Nah it's definitely black metal with some death metal and technical death metal touches. I think what you're hearing is the downtempo folksy stuff, but that's just the sound of modern black metal.

I loved it when I first heard it. Sounds like Portal but better and even with some melodies. Not as good as Serpent Column or Tchornobog but that's some stiff competition for this year. At least it's an awesome and fresh sounding slab of music. And I always support the furthering of this funny thing we call metal.

this album works for me in doses, but the gimmick gets really old really fast. listening to this album is like watching a 3 hour movie with a few good scenes. yeah, you're really gonna enjoy those scenes, but holy **** is it painful waiting between them.
