All that matters is how it sounds.
1. He's in key.
2. The music as a whole is pretty singular and unique, that's usually a hint that elements of the music will be going on an unconventional route.
3. The vocals complementing the music successfully on the album and in live performances suggests that he's not just ****ing up the whole time.

1. Maybe, maybe not.

2. And I don't really care what they're trying to do. I'm a "death of the author" kind of guy. The only problem with that is how difficult it makes it to convey your thoughts (and not least feelings) about a thing.

3. Well, I don't think he's successful at all (it's entirely subjective anyway).

Seriously? Not successful at being unique or unconventional? Can you point me to some albums that sound a lot like this?

You should at least consider it.

Have you ever had an album grow on you?

Oh yes, absolutely. That's a weakness of this format for album reviews/reactions. I'll listen to an album 1-5 times in just a day or two, then vote. Many of my favorite albums took months to convince me of their greatness. I find that albums that hook me in 100% right away tend to lose their shine a bit after a while.

He meant everyone else. Mondo wants all the gay for himself.
