I mean the way the Ramones are a full-blast assault on the senses was something rock was building too obviously but never committed to in such a gloriously myopic fashion. Pointing out that VU were stripped down too is just asinine.

I'd say that that's only because the VU explored things outside of that sound. When they're exploring pure rock n roll, they're mure pure imo.

Comparing the two bands in any great sense really doesn't make sense tbh. It's like comparing Britney Spears to Bjork or something.

Still missing the target. Only through sheer attitude can the Stooges stand toe to toe with the Ramones when it comes to aural assault. Even a song like "Your Pretty Face Is Going to Hell" is only just competing with "Blitzkrieg Bop", but other than that it's attitude and energy that give the Stooges an edge.

The Ramones were stripped down, a full blast assault, but also tight, fast and gleeful in a way that the stooges and VU never were
