Bruford > Both. :pimp:

I have always enjoyed Carl Palmer and Alan Whites drumming a lot more than Pearts too.

Technically Peart is probably the best rock drummer though, well at least he's a good candidate.

Moon however, he's the candidate for greatest rock drummer. Only guy I can think of who could compete for that title is Bonham.

For me...

Bruford = Carey > Peart = Lopez

Bruford is the granddaddy of prog drummers.

Yeah. He's played for Yes, King Crimson, Genesis, UK, National Health, Gong, etc and he's had various projects like Bruford Levin Upper Extremities with bassist Tony Levin, trumpeter Chris Botti and guitarist David Torn and his current jazz band Earthworks, he also played with Alan Holdsworth for a good while in the late 70s/early 80s. He's the hardest working man in prog business

Bruford should be treated like a god. Nobody laid a heavier groove than he.

Hiring a musician for his charisma rather than his actual talent would be like hiring a doctor with little medical experience to perform brain surgery on you simply because he has charisma... If i were to start a band, i would want a drummer with talent, not charisma.

Go buy a ****ing drum machine then. without moon there would be no peart

As to who's "better", it's a matter of opinion. So I'm not going to get in any arguments for or against either.

However, I definitely think it's a stretch to state that there would no Peart without Moon. That's an unprovable assumption.

Peart has been influenced by MANY drummers, in multiple genres of music. Moon was only one of quite a number who influenced him, and Peart still would've been a great rock drummer without him.

You're such a PC, sterilized, soulless, fence rider. The entire point of the post is to present your opinion as empirical fact, not waltz in like some high and mighty, pedantic, condescending encyclopedia. This site ain't big enough for two of us, and if I think you're bad...you're bad.

Moon.

Edit: While it could be said that Moon did amazing designes with red blue and yellow, he never touched green, black, and orange. While I do think its fair to say Moon did what he wanted, I don't think its fair to say he did it all. I don't even know that he could if he wanted to.

I'm taking that back. I've realized that green black and orange are boring.
