I thought The Who were freaking amazing at live 8, they will never be the same without Moon and Entwhistle, but they are still The Who.

Yeah, it was still Page and Plant, but without Bonzo and JPJ, the magic wasn't there.

I've heard about that Water's album, I'm not really sure what to think of it yet though. I'm sure it will be good, but then again, I'm not a real big opera fan, so I probably won't appreciate it like other people will.

Today I brought out the Led Zep IV cd, I hadn't listened to it in forever. It's a great album, even if it is vastly overrated. You can really see Plant's obsession with Lord of the Rings. (Battle of Evermore, Misty Mountain Hop, even Going to California)

Yeah, they still had so much energy on stage. I can't even imagine what it would have been like to go to one of their gigs back in the 70's.

^ yeah i heard about the LOTR influence in California with "Children of the sun begin to awake." if it's an obsession, i think it's a healthy one, for i love LOTR (hence the avatar)

I don't know any Jefferson Airplane, what are some good songs? I'll hit up Limewire.

Somebody To Love, White Rabbit, How Do You Feel, Embryonic Journey, Spare Chaynge...Anything off Surrealistic Pillow and After Bathing At Baxters.

Their music is very strange, they were one of the first pyschedlic rock bands... They were a influence on The Doors, Pink Floyd and The Beatles during their Sgt Pepper era.

Yes Jefferson Airplane is great, they have one of the greatest female vocalists of all time. Another good song is volunteers...

Also ramble on before that had the lyrics:
"Mine’s a tale that can’t be told,
My freedom I hold dear;
How years ago in days of old
When magic filled the air,
T’was in the darkest depths of mordor
I met a girl so fair,
But gollum, and the evil one crept up
And slipped away with her."
Ramble on is a great song BTW...

honestly, you'd do better not to, any band (same name or not) that writes "we built this city on rock and roll" deserves to be discredited sans arret.
