Default The Band

Where's the recognition for this classic band? One of the best rock albums of all time in The Band and many other excellent albums as well. If this was already a thread, my bad, but you get a lot of results searching up "Band" on this forum. So, are there any fans here?

Music From Big Pink is one of my favorite albums ever. To be honest, though, the rest of the Band's work doesn't do much for me. I'm not keen on Robbie Robertson's songwriting (blasphemy?). Richard Manuel's contributions and the four covers are what really make Big Pink for me.

LOL; I know I'm definitely in the minority, but the "brown album" isn't one of my favorites. I love When You Awake and Whispering Pines (both co-written by Manuel!), and when I was in high school I had "Look Out, Cleveland" on my Monday Morning mixtape, but the other tracks don't do much for me. A lot of them were better on Rock Of Ages, in my opinion.

(And given that this is a fan thread, I won't check in with my opinions on The Weight).
