Written and produced by McCartney (1969).
Seriously, Paul was/is brilliant. This would have been one of Paul's "granny songs" if he did it with the Beatles, but sung by a women's it's fantastic! |
OMG, what I said above:
Just goes to show how much the arrangement can make or break a song. |
Curious to see what "establishment" figures like Leonard Bernstein thought of the Beatles back in the day. Bernstein was one of the few back then who recognized how inventive the Beatles were.

I'll never forget that night. I heard the news from Howard Cosell. That was my ultimate "Where were you" moment :(

I was never much of a fan, but I do remember hearing about it and thinking how sad it was.

Hopefully, it won't be a cringe-inducing flop which puts a stain on their musical legacy. |
The Beatles - Now And Then (Official Audio) It doesn't put a stain on their legacy but it doesn't enhance it. Not awful, not great, just mediocre. Paul and Ringo probably shouldn't have bothered making this song. I'm guessing it was mostly (if not entirely) Paul's idea. Some things in life are best left undone. |
I do like some of the Beatles music, but for me I feel it gets a bit boring after half hour or so. I would really like to be a big fan, I have tried, but they are just not for me sadly.
