Been trying to figure out one of Hendrix's songs by ear for the last week or so. I try to refrain from just youtubing a how to on the song. I dont want to get accustom to just being able to look it up. I fear ill lean on that privy to much and my ears wont be as perceptive as they should. Its growing quite frustrating though. Of course I dont want to mimick the song note for note but im baffled completley at one part ....for the time being anyway. Still I never grow tired of listening to Hendrix on a daily basis.

In fact I generally prefer long, rambling instrumental guitar stuff like the Allmans or Robert Fripp, so I wonder if anyone could recommend a Hendrix album that has lots of playing/improv and not too much singing.

I liked how he didn't stick to one genre of music. It allowed me to appreciate other styles of music
When I think Jimi, I think in terms of albums.
I like:
Are you Experienced?
Axis Bold as Love
Electric Lady Land
Jimi Hendrix Blues

I have six of his albums. He's probably most successful musician in terms of posthumous releases. Thank God Hendrix recorded so much material...

I remember when I was on a huge Hendrix tangent. I downloaded a lot of Trower, Mahagony Rushy, and SRV. Those were the days...

I need to do this. I have none of his albums.

One father's day or for my mother's boyfriend's birthday, I don't remember which one I bought him The Jimi Hendrix Experience CD set. I kind of want it back now lol.

Ah... I've had that feeling before. Maybe you can ask to borrow it for a little while? If not... there are always other options... ()

he's a shady character, I doubt he even has it anymore. Probably pawned it very long ago but I can still ask to see if he has it.

As a matter of fact, I'm going to go do that right now!
