I love Creedence, and that's a huge understatement. They're so unique, one of those bands where you can hear a tiny bit of the middle of a song and instantly know it's them. Foggerty's vocals make the band IMO, and they truly do have a huge list of hit songs. I happen to like Proud Mary the most probably, but Fortunate Son would have to be my second favorite. The lyrics to fortunate Son are so awesome, I can imagine what that song meant to everyone at the time it came out. Born on the Bayou is awesome, it's got probably my favorite intro to a song by CCR. And how could I not mention Heard it Throught The Grapevine? They did such an awesome job on that song. Yeah I could go on and on about my love for Creedence, but you all get the picture. I would have liked to seen Foggerty tour, I saw him on Leno he sounded pretty good considering his age. Now I'm in the mood for some Creedence

"Fortunate Son" is probably my favorite rock song of all-time, it hits hard as hell. CCR has a lot of great output, though. Green River, Have You Ever Seen The Rain?, and Up Around The Bend are other favs of mine.

You know something, Down on the Corner is ****ing amazing. You know why? one line.

"You don't need a penny, just to hang around, but if you get a nickle won't cha lay ya money down"

BAM! those bolded lyrics right there. brilliant. Let me explain something, there is a rare move of skill in music, its a slight layinto on the melody, which leaves a gap around the rest of the music, otherwise covered by the rolling melody. But when you really hammer the one part, it leaves space and adds an unintentional empahsis.

I can't explain how amazing that one part of the song is, but thats where the drive is, thats when Old Man Fogerty is ****ing feeling it. Its like he's doing a headstand on his voice. It is the pinnacle, the apex, the killing blow in the song. The part every drunk should attempt, that every mother hums to her child, that the day laborers use to get them through.

You should play that song, and that part with your garage band and then you should ****ing collapse because you just baked the inside of your own soul.
