It's more that you seem to think one should take issue with people being very into music while still being able to like pop. As if there's some inherent contradiction there. Whatever your tastes are regarding pop isn't the issue.

Basically, the idea that people like those on this forum, that are pretty into music, to say the least, should be expected to only like obscure bands or whatever isn't top 40/mainstream/for dumb people or... something. If anything, I'd say that if you really, really have a deep interest in music, you will eventually learn to value expression, melody, harmony, etc. enough that you can recognize a great tune without worrying about whether it's sufficiently snob-appropriate music to enjoy. I mean yeah this is a very obvious point, especially on this site, but it's still nice to see it reiterated every once in a very ****ing blue while. Even if the reiterator is a pleb.

If it has been said enough, Elphenor wouldn't have said what he did. In think an iteration of this point should auto-post monthly.

I know I'm a pleb, but I don't know why you specifically say that I am. Because I just don't get most punk and extreme metal? (which I don't).

I'm still not sure what to call her these days. Basically if I'm talking about Animal to Warrior then it's Ke$ha, but modern day it's Kesha. I'll respect her wishes as a Southern gentleman.
She's a southern gentleman? I always knew there was something masculine about that girl!

It's at least her second best album and if you ignore it simply because it doesn't sound like her older **** then you will be doing yourself a disservice. Seriously it's amazing.

I mean just tell me these aren't amazing.

Those aren't amazing.

If not used intentionally as a homophobic slur, as in, "You like Genesis? You're a ***got!" then I think that's ok as long as it's not overused.

Would have made the same joke but decided it sounded too much like it should be your line.

Earlier today, I added a bunch of Kesha and other pop music to my Spotify album list. I'll know soon enough if Batty's constant rambling about Kesha is justified.

There is basically no map for a person's music taste unless you expect there to be one. Try not to be a High Fidelity cliche.
