You won't get the full experience, though. They won't be the same as they were then since John Deacon left the band, and Freddie Mercury DIED.

Dude, they're not even together with any vocalist right now, thus I didn't mention actually seeing them. Although, even if it wouldn't be the full experience, Queen + Paul Rodgers would be pretty bad ass live.

BTW, enough with the hate on Queen + Paul Rodgers! Yes, it doesn't sound exactly like Queen, it's not supposed too, thus it's called Queen + Paul Rodgers, combining the sounds of both artists. Also, "Say It's Not True" is an awesome track.

Agree with a lot of this, but the band got away with a lot of lesser songs thanks to Freddie Mercury's vocal ability to carry them through.
Let's not forget their George Martin in (Reinhold) Mack. Very much like The Beatles with Martin, I can say that it was his Production and Engineering that seriously made their music sound good. Same goes for his work with Sparks as well...and, to the very few who can forgive him for "Rock Me Tonight", Billy Squire. He also was part of the technical details in various other bands like Deep Purple (and I think a Jon Lord solo), ELO, and singers like Donna Summer in her Giorgio Moroder years (to some, her very best).

Bumping up this old thread for some interesting news.

Brian May: Knighthood comes with 'a little bit more clout'
Quote:
LONDON -- Queen guitarist Brian May is now a “Sir.”

May, who also has a doctorate in astrophysics and is an animal welfare advocate, received a knighthood Friday as part of the U.K.'s annual New Year's Honors list. The Queen guitarist, who was honored for services to music and charity, said he hopes the knighthood will give him “a little bit more clout.”

“Maybe a few more people will listen to me than would otherwise, you know, if it’s Sir Brian on the phone,” said May, who spoke to The Associated Press via Zoom from his house in Windlesham, Surrey.

He was among hundreds of artists, community leaders and athletes who were recognized on the first such list to be signed off by King Charles III.

I've always wanted to try a Red Special, one of the Guild models.
