"Truth" (lyrics, cover, quote, artists, band)

I wrote this a long time ago and have forgotten about it until I pulled out my journal with all of my lyrics and stuff in it. So I thought that I would post it and see what response they get. I know that they are short, but I am going to add to them. I am thinking of putting music to them with my band. I have a feeling that they are going to be bad mouthed, but oh well.

Truth

I feel feared but respected,
calm and collected.
And I'm shining light on everything
that I have rejected.
I have open wounds infected,
my soul is inspected,
giving hope to ideas
that I've neglected.
Looking at what the mirror reflected,
things I've regreted,
looking at my actions,
and how my life was affected.
Seeing how a mind is seduced,
thoughts evil induced.
Revealing how good things
can be abused.
The truth is refused,
often misused.
mixed up words
leaving troubled minds confused.

Yeah, the only thing going for this is rhyming. Half that stuff barely makes sense, and looks likes its just in there to rhyme.

Your best line your last line.
The fact that you can rhyme words is duly noted.
Actually you have a ton of good lines in here. Although all of them together in this song, is a waste because it doesn't talk about much. Oh your feared but respected. That makes me think of Machiavelli.
If i had to rate this i'd give you a 2 for effort.

As for making sense, it does. But it seems like a few of the readers are trying to put to much to this. They want something that is really complex, and in most cases when someone tries to make it that way, it becomes to far out there. It flows, and sticks to a point. I know that a few of you will bad mouth anything I do because you don't like me, and that is fine by me, because not all artists put lyrics together to please the masses. It reflects life and that's all there is to it. Anyway thanks to those who like this, to those who don't, all I have to say is that it's your opinion. I guess that you have to know what's behind these lyrics to understand them and for them to take on meaning. But that is one thing many won't learn anyway.

I think the next lyrics I write should be something to just piss off those who are easily angered. It seems like all someone has to do is mention God and the evolutionists and atheists get all upset and their panties ride up their ass. I find it funny to get them irritated. Yeah, I think that's next on the agenda........lol!

It makes some sense but there's an awkwardness to it.
And if it has any menaing to it, it's rather vague. I think you have some really good lines in here that would really be suited for individual songs.

You posted this wrtech thing because you wanted our opinion.
And the people that said they liked it, look at what they said. There was no critique whatsoever. It's spam.
They gave no reason for why they liked it but you took it as a testament for this song's greatness.
I never once said I didn't like it and I gave you my opinion (which is what you're asking for by posting it in this forum) and I gave you advice on how to make it better.
Well you ungrateful little snot, I hope you never try to make money off of this. I imagine any record label, musician, or producer would laugh in your face and hurt your feelings. But stay on that high horse of yours. And when you fall, I hope your pride absorbs some of the damage.
Not everything is about someone liking you.
