A fire can be a living thing you thick brained cavewoman. I'm not talking in the tangible sense, i'm talking in the memory sense. I pulled it right out of the dictionary and double checked it on the internet. Theres no "agree to disagree" issue here, unless you're proud to be ignorant and ignore things looking you in the face.

Oh so it's nice to know we believe everything we find on the internet. Oh how modern day technology has transformed us into sloths.

And what is memory sense? Explain that because it doesn't really help your case (anyway) so i'm trying to understand what is going through your mind here.

And I know I said this before but I'll say it again because you seem to be rather determined to pursue this issue, in the metaphorical sense a fire can be a living thing. but it is not a living thing.

There i put it in italics just so it stood out. Didn't want you to miss it.

And since you don't want to do the whole agree to disagree thing, can we at least drop it now?

Oh and PS:
ever hear the phrase "fuel to the fire"
fire isn't a living thing but it does have some of the characteristics of a living thing. it can be fed

Once again, learn to read. At least make your semi-nice insults accurate.

"The fire I saw that night still lives on in my mind", or if you want me to rephrase that to include the exact word. "The fire that night is still alive in my mind". Unless you consider that inproper use of the word alive and two up to date english dictionary systems are wrong.

See above, it isn't speaking metaphorically at all. Seeing as it being alive in memory would be correct.

Alright as long as you don't pull any "i gotta get the last word" crap.

I'm not one for petty insults. I'd like to think I'd more sophisticated than that.

In any event. I see your point; acknowledged the validity of it more than once.

But we are talking about fire as a living thing in the context the way in which Pipers used it. She didn't say memory or anything like that.
I interpreted as i did and you started this whole thing over my interpretation of it.

you seem to be done with this. And as I've gotten over this a few posts ago, I definitely think we should stop this now.
The least we can do is leave this thread with our maturity in tact.

But this way fun. Thanks.
