Default Sunraze

sup bitchez, its been time... i have been writing alot, just not posting here, recently i got the smallest little bit of inspiration and this is what came out of it, tell me how you like it... its called sunraze (sorry bout the length)

-----------------------------------------------------------------

In the middle of the night, on the latest news broadcast
I see a satellite feed of the deserts turned to glass

Even before I wake I see the lives the sun is burning
And it seems fear of the morning is what keeps the world turning

But the next story made me proud of how desperation changed the world
How quickly parents found the courage to look to their boys and girls and say

“Its time to leave this place, not for something better, but for something that will be here come tomorrow, When we need it, when you’re crying, when we’ve conceded” but they were lying in tongues of sorrow when they said that you can find another home. Because from tonight forth I’ll understand we were always alone.

At least until tonight.

They are escaping, they don’t care where, as long as they don’t have to wait
And they don’t have to care about what they’ve so happily left behind. Is the place that you love not worth all of your lives?

Well my life is worth a run through moonlit streets, while trying to ignore the heat
I take one last look at what I’ve loved.
And just then I see something high above.

I almost lose it in the sky, but it’s as bright as any star
And only then do I realize just how far away my own hopes are

They’ve left me.
They’ve left me behind.
They’ve left me to burn
They’ve left me to die

They’ve left me to something they were so afraid to fight
That they broke through their sweet heaven and into the night

But me, I can’t bear to speak a prayer when my hope is so far away
And I can’t depend on saviours who have come and who have gone
The last thing that I could see before my sadness went astray
Was the light of my last day beckoning from the horizon

My last breath was the deepest
My last heart beat the fastest
As I went to the light
I felt myself move past it

And now it seems so clear

How soon what we want to becomes what we must
And I laugh as the sun turns my smile to dust
It burns, but burns bright, with beauty I embark
Now they’re probably still looking for their hope in the dark

is this a song? its good, its ominous. some bits could be chopped. the first three lines were good.

all in all solid. what do you plan to do with it?

i'm hoping just to make it into a song with a really big, epic sorta feel. the lyrical content definately makes room for parts which are both very heavy and very quiet and mournful... its gonna be tough putting it all together though

i dig it. like you said its a bit long. i dont really see how you could implement some of the really long lines without chopping them up somehow, but then again it is hard to make such judgement without hearing the rythm of the song. **** you have enough lyrics to make the music change completly in the middle, and then change back towads the end. i love when songs do that. somewhat of an example of that would be 'band on the run' by paul mccartney where its all soft edged and dreamy, then it kicks it up a notch in the middle, then it smooths out to a folky sound at the end.
