Default da da song

i would like to see what people think about this song my friend wrote it ad she doesnt believe me when i tell her its pretty good. so i told her i would prove it to her.

I understand how you feel
I understand your point of view
I understand why you made your decision.

I've listened to your reasons
I've heard the words you spoke
And now i've made my decision
That its time for me to go
I need to pave my own road
I gotta make my own mistakes
You've gotta let me go
It's time to let me go

I want you to know
You have my love and respect
I hope you know i'll always miss you
And that i dont wanna hurt you
But i gotta do whats right for me

Repeat chorus

I know you dont want to
but im begging you please
I need to live my own life
I want to make my own choices
I need you to understand

repeat chorus

Its time to let me go
just let me go

I've moved it here for others to critique.
Tell 'your friend' she is welcome to post her songs here in this forum.

It's's lacking a little expansive use of the language but it wasn't bad,
I'll keep digging...'til I feel something.
