Appreciate it, but I've spent literally the last 12 months feeling creatively stuck as far as music goes. I'm usually either repeating myself or making something messy that I can't finish. I'm just waiting for something to click so I can make something substantial again.

I haven't heard all your stuff so unfortunately I couldn't say if your music seems stale. It could be that you're internalizing it all and you believe your music to be stale when it isn't. Such a thing would be understandable as it's human nature to doubt the quality of one's own creation.

It's actually kind of ironic. I wrote some music up through 2015 that I am still really happy with. But since then, I've been stuck in much the same style (more or less) and mostly end up abandoning attempts at getting away from it before they become anything substantial.
I've written less music up through 2018 than the last many years. It's so frustrating and fruitless to write music these days that I prefer working on other creative projects. I think I'll get back to something I'll personally feel satisfied with, but I definitely feel like I need a change of air, so to speak.

The last things I made that I'm truly happy with are from the summer of 2017, but it was only a very short little album. These days, I find it far less frustrating to work on my computer game instead. I'm gonna have to make a soundtrack for it eventually though, so maybe that will force me to "man up" and just get something done.

well after many painstaking hours of extreme and frustrating micro-editing, I have finished the lone Trouble Salad album of 2018, and to make up for the rest of the year I figured it should be phat. Psychedelic idm/drum n bass/post-industrial/experimental rock/noise/post-disco/dubstep/etc.
