Please shell out the money to record in an actual studio. Or make one since it's just on the spot jam sessions, but regardless, I don't think anybody should ever pay for an album recorded on a cellphone. It's just lazy and unenthusiastic.

Go ahead and get it for free then, you have the option. I don't mind the lofi element and its several hundred dollars cheaper, so I think I'll stick with that.

It makes all the difference. Studio recordings, professional mixing and mastering, it truly makes a huge huge difference if you ever plan on actually making money off of your music.

A) Who says he cared about making money from it
B) Plenty of lofi bands have become famous and successful

Yup, making money is not my concern. Given the style of music, lofi is more acceptable. If you want to make your music with better sound quality, that's cool, but don't get on my ass for not following your philosophy.

One of my favourite records, recorded in a can of sardines.

That was obviously recorded in a studio though. Like, it was intentionally distorted, yes, by professionals who know what they are doing. It was definitely mixed and mastered properly. It's done well enough that I wouldn't have guessed that it was made in the 60s.

Yours isn't really intentionally distorted. It's recorded on a phone out of cheapness and laziness. How can you say something like "if you love it like you should" when you don't even love it enough to put forth the effort to make the best quality you can?

It was recorded in a basement...

If you don't want to buy it or listen to it because I didn't record it on anything you consider fancy then go right ahead, no skin off my ass.

If it makes you feel better I don't think it sucked, I'm not a fan of that specific genre but I do think it was good especially considering that it was all free styled. Just think it'd sound much better if it was handled as seriously as you want the listener to handle it.

If I could afford it I would, but I cannot and I'm not too worried about alienating a picky audience.
