Excellent legato dude!

(I didn't listen to it all - kind skimmed across each of the songs)

Reminds me of mid to late 80s movie soundtrack music. You know, the scene where Molly Ringwald finally gets to kiss the guy?

All-in-all, it is a bit much for a 58 minute piece. Turning it into a smaller piece, say the first three or four sections, would definitely help the end listening experience.

.
Thanks guys for your input and kind comments.
Yeah, like I said it was a rambling too-long piece that I cut into tracks to make it a bit more manageable. I just liked how it sounded.

I have two more (different) songs I came across on a seriously old CD that I'll upload. I also have all my old songs but they're on (gasp!) floppy disc and I need to get an external fdd before I can even access them. I remember some of them being all right though.

As a side note, my Yamaha PSR-550 on which I composed these songs is now dead as a doornail, and I'm (possibly) looking at replacing it, though I don't know if it's worth it. In order to do what I used to though I need one with a 16-track sequencer, as the PSR 550 had. I also have not won the lotto so it's gotta be reasonably cheap (200-400 quid thereabouts) adn as my old keyboard does not seem to be made/available any more, I'm looking at this. I know they have a laughable rep when it comes to keyboards but it seems to have what I want for a decent price. Any comments/suggestions?

Thanks again

TH, I don't know if you have Kijiji in Ireland, but that's where I'd recommend looking. I got the Yamaha equivalent (which is far superior) of that Casio for about £100.

If you don't have Kijiji, I'm sure there's an Irish equivalent. You'd get much better equipment for a much lower price, and you could actually play it before buying.

Um, I don't know what anything with that many I's and J's is.... is it some sort of musician's website? Or like classifieds? We have "Done Deal" here, but unf most people are selling fairly crappy keyboards (YPT-280, PSR-180 etc) or want big bucks for a decent one (700 Euro up) --- well, more than I'm willing to spend to just satisfy my desire for noodling anyway. I did see of all things a DX7 on ebay and it was really reasonable, but the list of things that would have to be fixed on it worried me.

What's the Yamaha you got?

Yeah, it's a classifieds site.

My keyboard is at my mom's, and I don't remember the model off the top of my head. I'd get back to you on that next week. It's discontinued I think, and quite similar to the one you mentioned--61 organ keys, touch sensitive but not weighted, and a ton of bells and whistles. I don't use it much, since I have both a 100-year-old upright and my own P-105 (digital piano, full 88 weighted keys) at my disposal.
