Default Modern day Soul/Funk bands?

any good soul funk bands around at the moment that i should hear?

besides Mama's Gun, I'm not sure many people are writing original soul/funk music in UK today. maybe i'm wrong..

trio valore italian mods, with heavy hammond groove, they are unashameably mod there-fore mostly play to mod crowds, best iv'e heard at this beat.

did some research on trio valore, allthougth having a big italian fan base,they seem to have two british members, the other being italian, and i'm sure there is an ocean colour scene conection.
