Truly awesome. I am very familiar with each of the above names. With the
exception of The Supremes, I have music by all of the artists mentioned.
"Old school" is my personal choice as far as music goes, regardless of the
genre. However, I do have a particular fondness for old funk and jazz.

What about Quzar, Mutiny, Ohio players, Rick James and the Headhunters.
As far as the Supremes are concerned, and Motown for that matter, it was the beginning of the end for Great music. Motown ushered in the mass produced, generic
pop music era. Stax and later Casablanca Records kept the funk alive while giving the
artist a creative outlet and the listener an alternative to the "assembly line" bland music of Motown.
I am and always will be "devoid of pop"

I love, love, LOVE old soul music, from about the mid-50s to the mid-70s. Ray Charles, Sam Cooke, James Brown, Otis Redding, Al Green, Stevie Wonder, Marvin ***e... geniuses, everyone of them.

I would Recommend:

"Blood sweat and Tears"

and

"Bump City"
