Default Greatest disco and/or funk band of all time?

There is no clear cut answer to this one, i mainly just like to see what everyone thinks.
Chic is my all time favorite and imo the best disco band ever, and they did have a funky edgy side. I wouldnt call them just disco

Sly & the Family Stone were pretty groovy. And Donna Summer.

ABBA had a stellar disco phase as well.

He was called "The Godfather of Soul" and he was also into gospel and R&B, but for my musical enjoyment, when the time came to get funky, nobody could out-funk James Brown...

Disco and funk and are mutually exclusive: they are two completely different styles of music...Asking this as an "and/or" is like asking "What is the greatest country and/or reggae band of all time?

There is a sub-genre of music called disco-funk, in which bands like Chic, A Taste of Honey, GQ, and a host of unknown bands reside, but this style of music is more disco than funk. Parliament/Funkadelic falls nowhere near this category
