Ah, I love that song and I completely agree about it being one of Australia's unofficial anthems.

Default Raust's top 10 Track Mixtape

SIDE A
1. Metallica - Master of Puppets
I love everything about this song! The riff is timeless and it gets me going everytime I hear it.
2. Dream Theater - Forsaken
This song is great, the group amazing. What else should be said? The vocals in this song are incredible!
3. Pantera - Walk
Such a simplistic riff, but it makes me want to knock someones teeth in. It also helps that I could relate to the song.
4. Korn - Freak on a Leash
The bass in this song is great! I love John's freak out in the middle of the song!
5. Slayer - Raining Blood
Love the band, love the song. Slayer holds a special place to my heart. This song along with the album is genuis.
6. Slipknot - Psychosocial
Great song, this show's that Slipknot still holds up. Although I think that there new album is all together just OK.
7. System of a Down - Chop Suey
Good song, I love the yelling!
8. Marilyn Manson - Disposable Teens
Great band, good song I love the music video. "The more that you fear us the bigger we get." I love that lyric!
9. Nirvana - All Apologies
On a more softer note I really enjoy the group Nirvana. In Utero is one of my favorite albums of all time. This song is great I also enjoy the unplugged version of it.
10. Cannibal Corpse - Hammer Smashed Face
I love the opening bass in this song. I'm a guilty fan of death metal. The lyrics are brutal and I love it!

Some of those are really good, but the tracks weren't that big of a suprise.

An Englishman's Look At Classic Australian Rock Music.rar
^ What it says on the can really. These are ten of my favourite songs from the Australian rock scene of the late 70s and 80s, and a good starting point for anyone curious about the whole thing (in my opinion of course).

1. The Triffids - Chicken Killer
2. The Church - Antenna
3. Radio Birdman - Murder City Nights
4. The New Christs - Coming Apart
5. The Saints - Wild About You
6. Midnight Oil - Truganini
7. Exploding White Mice- Just Plain Bad
8. The Lime Spiders - Action Woman
9. The Birthday Party - Dim Locator
10. Hoodoo Gurus - Tojo

I think a couple of these have been on some mixtapes I've made in the past. Also, the Triffids and the Birthday Party may seem odd choices, but they do loosely fall under the Aussie rock umbrella to me.

Anyway, enjoy!

Didn't notice this till now. I'll be giving it a listen soon. Few names I'm interested in myself! The Saints are top notch sir .

Coming back to this -

1. The Triffids - Chicken Killer
This is like any other Australian 80s stuff. First impression always seems to be good, but nothing great. I'm sure it'll grow on me.

2. The Church - Antenna
Same as 1.

3. Radio Birdman - Murder City Nights
I've had this Radio Birdman album on my HD for quite a few months, without even touching it! Damn, I'm so hopeless sometimes . Liked it quite a bit. I'm goona give it a listen now.

4. The New Christs - Coming Apart
Intense stuff! Me likings.

5. The Saints - Wild About You
I love The Saints. Their first two releases are definitely worth a listen.

6. Midnight Oil - Truganini
Hehe, more Midnight Oil. I already got a couple of their stuff, but well, there's still more to go .

7. Exploding White Mice - Just Plain Bad
Didn't interest me to check out more tbh. Just Plain Bad I suppose .

8. The Lime Spiders - Action Woman
More of this Australian garage-rock stuff...Argh! First impression is as always the same - Nothing great, but I guess it'll grow on me. Problem is that many of these bands just sound similar.

9. The Birthday Party - Dim Locator
I love those vocals! Otherwise, it's kinda hit or miss. Liked it the first time around, but didn't impress me during the second listen.

10. Hoodoo Gurus - Tojo
And here comes another one! I think listening to an album than a track here and there would be a better option.

Most of the tracks had something in it that interested me, but doesn't immediately blow me away.
