Halloween is almost here, so naturally I had to make a playlist. Don't expect anything like Monster Mash or Thriller. I got all the eerie and creepy stuff I already had, and also scoured the web for more of it. Song 4 isn't actually a song. It was an excerpt I took from a recording done preceding, and during the Jonestown mass suicide. The first few minutes are during Jim Jones oration, and then I stiched it with the last few minutes of warped music that was recorded after all of the talking stopped. Everything else is self explanatory. Well, that about sums it up, so enjoy!

01) The Caretaker - In the Dark
02) Svarte Greiner - Easy on the Bones
03) Brenoritvrezorkre - Uatr Borvuatre Zuerkle Droer
04) Jim Jones - Jamestown
05) Moëvöt - Zwightrape, Chant d'EterniteÌ I
06) Krzysztof Penderecki - Popule Meus (Improperia)
07) Suicide - Frankie Teardrop
08) Moëvöt - Oraison
09) Gnaw Their Tongues - In Sullen Silence Stalks Forth Pestilence
10) Isla Cameron - O' Willow Waly
11) The Caretaker - Haunting Me
12) Jerry Goldsmith - Ave Satani
13) Belketre - Hate

Download

Holy dang. DLing immediately. The only name I recognize is The Caretaker, but he's my favorite electronic artist, so I have high hopes for this. I've been needing something creepy to listen to.

it's every night of my life

so your mix was perfect man.....seriously i loved it....last night while driving over the mountain there were looming dark clouds, lightening flashes, rain and even a little snow....you made the perfect soundtrack for it :)

i specifically loved the tracks by Moëvöt, The Caretaker....a hell really i enjoyed the entire mix....well done and well placed

one question....have you heard the entire last sermon of the Peoples Temple?....it's a little over an hour and is fucked up beyond belief

inspired me to make my own creepy mix for everyone....although mine will concentrate of ritual and dark ambient/martial industrial :).....i'll put it up tomorrow

I'm glad you liked it! :D And yes, I most certainly did. I went through and tried to figure out the part I felt was creepiest/most disturbing, and I went with that little bit. It's still so hard to fathom something like that.

Downloading now! I, rather unsurprisingly, know no one on that list. Some of the artists do sound familiar, but I'm sure I haven't heard any of their work.

Updated my link. Mediafire blocked people from downloading it. -_-

A mix exploring the crossover between electronic music and shoegaze. Featuring shoegaze bands who have dipped their toes into electronic music (Slowdive, The Ecstasy Of Saint Theresa), electronic acts who display a certain degree of shoegaze influence (Seefeel, Arms and Sleepers) and others who have blurred the boundaries between the two as to be practically irrelevant.

1. Slowdive - 'In Mind'
2. Bowery Electric - 'Fear Of Flying'
3. Seefeel - 'Plainsong'
4. Auburn Lull - 'Blur My Thoughts Again'
5. Malory - 'Want You'
6. M83 - 'Gone'
7. A Sunny Day In Glasgow - 'Nitetime Rainbows'
8. Arms and Sleepers - 'Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye'
9. Hooverphonic - 'Nr 9'
10. The Ecstasy Of Saint Theresa - 'Surfing On Steam (Band du Lunar Mix)'

Awesome, cheers!

I actually gave S.C.U.M's debut a listen a few months back but it didn't really impress me at the time. They have a darkwave kind of sound which has the potential to be interesting but I wasn't really feeling it. I must give it another shot though.

Hi friends. This probably isn't the best place to post this, but I didn't think the idea warranted it's own thread so it's the best fit by default.

I'm leaving on a roadtrip at the end of the week and was hoping I could convince some of you to make, upload and send me a mixtape or two to take on my journey. Thanks in advance. If they suck I'll let you know.

I'll see if I can put together anything decent with the local files on my computer, but I can't say that this statement hasn't tempted me to sneak in some surprise Merzbow or something. :D

Haha, I recently was given a mixtape from a friend and the first few tracks were really great but the next fifteen or so were just Return of the Mack. I feel like now I can handle whatever you throw at me.

gunnels 03-14-2013 09:16 PM

Uploading now! I picked an assortment of tunes that I personally love to listen to on the road, for a variety of reasons depending on the song. I tried to get a fairly good range of music in there, that way there should be something you'll like (or at least if you hate a song you can skip to something in a different style).

khfreek 03-14-2013 10:15 PM

I will contribute also. Will edit this post with the result, I think I'll focus on stuff I'd wanna hear on a road trip too.

WWWP 03-14-2013 10:54 PM

Many thanks to everyone who has sent me something! I super appreciate it. I leave in T-minus 6 hours, if anyone sends me a link that I don't get in time I'll download it when I return. :)

khfreek 03-15-2013 12:05 AM

I figured it was kinda silly to edit the post since it's time sensitive and all. I picked like 50 songs I would have on a road trip, eliminated the artists that were on your lastfm except one but idgaf, then got it down to 10 somehow. Here it is:

Road Trip Mix for WWWP

1. Fitz & the Tantrums - Pickin' Up The Pieces
2. Blood Brothers - Spit Shine Your Black Clouds
3. Mos Def - Ghetto Rock
4. Snarky Puppy - Skate U
5. Little Comets - Lost Time
6. Buckethead - Hills of Eternity
7. Jeff Buckley - Night Flight
8. Nas - Memory Lane (Sittin' in da Park)
9. At the Drive-In - Hourglass
10. Guster - Rainy Day

WWWP 03-15-2013 12:14 AM

You're awesome but the link doesn't work. :(

gunnels 03-15-2013 12:15 AM

Whoops! I uh...completely forgot about the "10 track" part of the thread title. I worked on a "will fit on a CD" basis out of habit, sorry.
But yay, Guster is great driving music. =)

Really? It's working for me: http://www.mediafire.com/?p6p1rfmbj27o616

If that doesn't work please direct me to some other file upload site, I'm out of touch.

EDIT: Well it's been identified as copyrighted material in a matter of minutes apparently... what else can i do? Email?

Nah, I had no expectations of length (that's what she said), I only posted my request in here because I didn't know where else it should go.

Pebble Pool

To those who are only familiar with EDM, house, whathaveyou, I suggest giving this a go if you are unfamiliar with other genres of electronic music. I would catheterize some of this as "IDM", but there's everything from breakcore, acid, ambient, ect. I worked hard on the flow of this, and settled on this, I felt it worked for an entire sitting based on multiple listens. Those even familiar with Aphex Twin, and Autechre, type stuff should give this a go too, I put a few unknowns on here just fer u guys ;).

I hope some of you download this, listen to it, and get something out of it. I've always wanted to make a compilation like this, and I'm really happy about this one! Please tell me what you guys think! <3

PS. not all tracks are flac, about half of them are. It's pretty tough to find some files in flac format when some of these tracks weren't exactly "released". Also, I just need to update my library, but lazy.

debaserr 11-17-2014 05:21 PM

^^OOO I've been obsessed with The Tuss / Aphex Twin lately so you've excited me.

EDIT: PRetty cool stuff, thanks dood!

It looks like this thread hasn't had much action in a while, but it's a sticky thread so maybe i won't be out of line putting a comp up.

I'm New!!!

I'm not sure if anyone will find this worth the d/l or not, but then again, what the hell do I know?

A few notes here:

01. I had no theme in mind, but after I put it together i realized it's about women (No offense to the ladies).

02. These are, in large part, Vinyl rips so if an occasional "snap, crackle and pop" offends your modern sensibilities, I won't hold it against you.

03. All tracks are Post-War ranging from the late 1940s through the early 1970s.

04. This is The Blues, The Whole Blues, and Nothing But The Blues.

05. Amen, Godspeed, and Goodwill to All Men (except that guy over there, the third one from the left...he's a bastard)

Feeling Blue

01. Somebody Done Voodo The Hoodo Man - Model T. Slim
02. Whores Is Funky - Robert Shaw
