I know I posted about it already, but you really need to hear the Hotline Miami soundtrack, which works by itself as a great electronic album.

I got this album with my copy of Skyward Sword. It's fucking beautiful.

Ahhhh I love that second song you posted, but it reminds me so much of Kingdom Hearts. I swear to god it could be a song from Ariel's world or any of the world's really. Did Mitsuda have anything to do with the KH soundtrack? <3 It's beautiful...

And you didn't like the FFX soundtrack? I found it to be almost as good as FFIX or FFVIII, and maybe better than FFVII.

Im not sure if Mitsuda worked on Kingdom Hearts OST, but its a possibility. He has worked with Square on a whole bunch of games. His style is so good, the melodies he makes are mesmerizing.

And its not that I didn't like X's soundtrack, I just really dug the psone era games a lot more so those songs are really etched in my brain haha. "To Zanarkand" is definitely one of the series best songs though, such a beautiful tune.

You should listen to this guy lonlonjp; he does a whole bunch of acousic covers of video game songs. Really gifted guitarist

_______

as for more favorite game OSTs, gotta add Parappa The Rappa to my list.

Omg I'm so sorry I didn't realize you replied before. Thanks for the answer. Okay, well if you don't know I'll certainly look it up on wikipedia. In any case, could you recommend me a few more of Mitsuda's best tracks? I loooooove it.

Yeah, I guess I was too young for all that, after all. I didn't get my first console until 2002. =D No video games until we were 13 at my house. Probably a good parenting tactic really.

Wow, I liked it, it kinda gives the song a flamenco or Southern Spain twist, never thought of it like that before, though...

Thanks again for the reply, P.D.Dude.

Haha it's all good, and as far as more of Mitsuda's best I could honestly recommend listening to all of the Chrono Trigger/Cross OST's which was his best work in my opinion. He likes to use similar keys and even melodies sometimes in a few different songs so when you listen to the album as a whole the songs are kind of like a story book, it's amazing. It's some of the most beautifully arranged music I ever heard! But for some picks of more favorite tracks...

This song gets me so pumped once the song really hits

the original 16 bit version is still pretty epic, but Lonlonjp version is ridiculicious
