MusicBanter Compilation Feb 2009
It's back for another round of guessing and revealing members inner psyches-OK maybe not but many thanks to everyone. A few members have contributed 2 tracks and I only contributed 1 track for a change!
Tracklisting: 1. Jean Claude Vannier- L'enfant La Mouche Et Les Allumettes 2. Exuma - Dambala 3. American Music Club - Miracle On 34th Street 4. Ambulance LTD - Anecdote 5. Mogwai - Killing All The Flies 6. Bong Ra - Catholic High School Girls In Trouble 7. Hotel Wrecking City Traders - Danlicker 8. Relaxed Muscle - Sexualised 9. The Thorns - Dragonfly 10. Souls Of Mischief - '93 Till Infinity 11. The Heads - Couldn't Be It Doesn't Matter 12. Ester Drang - Come Back Alive 13. Jimmy Chamberlain Complex - Love Is Real 14. Valley Of The Giants - Waiting To Catch A Bullet http://dwhiterap.googlepages.com/downloadyb1.gif |
The flow wasn't intentional. It starts off very mellow and then the tempo picks up from track 5 onwards. Early highlights - Ambulance, Relaxed Muscle, The Thorns, Ester Drang. More thoughts upon multiple listens.
|
Shit, why did I not hear about this till now? I kind of wanted to throw a song in. :(
|
Looking sharp. I'll download it shortly.
Nice work people. |
Wow. I have not heard of a single on of these bands, I'll have to give this a listen.
So what's the story with this thing? How did it come about? |
Mogwai - dac?
Jimmy Chamberlain Complex - RezZ |
My track isn't here. :(

At this early stage, I'm guessing Mogwai is Dac's pick as well. |

As for you lot slow on the uptake- there have been constant reminders for a week or so :banghead: http://www.musicbanter.com/general-m...an-2009-a.html |
Yeah, but I sent it in on time.
Oh well, just stick my track on the March Comp. |
My WMP won't play the 'Sexualised' track, I'm assuming because it's an .m4a format???
I'm going to guess the Ester Drang is Jackhammer's. |

On the D/L, trying to clear some space on my comp for it.

Since there aren't any lyrics from the songs I put in the comp in my sig this time, maybe it'll take a little longer for someone to guess.
|
Did you do the Bong Ra one Jackhammer? What a choon!

Damn this a good comp, guesses later. I doubt anyone will get mine :D
|
Erg, my stupid computer says it doesn't have enough memory no matter how much space I clear.

Nah, but seriously. Is it American Music Club? |
I wish. That's the best track. I need an album for sure

So can someone explain to me how I send songs in or I can at all? |
I have to say that I love these compilations. I am introduced to artists that I have never heard of before. In fact there are only 2 that I recognise from this comp. My contribution:) and one other.
Valley Of the Giants is not my contribution I might add but what a cracking track on only one listen. I guess FaSho. I like Exuma a lot too and reckon that may be jackhammer. |
Could someone explain what the story is with this comp? Is this part of a series that people have been doing? I feel like I've been totally missing out on something here.

The 2 compilations can still be uploaded and who contributed is in the thread. You have been missing out as sure beats stuff like that Jooiigggloo wank face paint rot that everyone seems to be sadly contributing to. This to me is what this forum should be about, not that. Get a track into jackhammer for the 2nd compilation. I am keen to guess what you contribute. |
This definitely is a cracking mix!
Exuma ---- Either Terrible Lizard or Proggy man. (I've noticed them mention this before) American Music Club ---- 4ZZZ? |

I'm guessing Jean Claude Vannier's "L'enfant La Mouche Et Les Allumettes" is from Demonoid.

Well, he did all the arrangements on Serge Gainsbourg's 'Melody Nelson'. The entire record is basically the same thing, minus the vocals. Both are well worth a listen if you like deep orchestration, mixed with funky guitars and cinematic kind of atmosphere.
