The flow wasn't intentional. It starts off very mellow and then the tempo picks up from track 5 onwards. Early highlights - Ambulance, Relaxed Muscle, The Thorns, Ester Drang. More thoughts upon multiple listens.

Farfisa 02-14-2009 09:14 AM

Shit, why did I not hear about this till now? I kind of wanted to throw a song in. :(

Bulldog 02-14-2009 09:40 AM

Looking sharp. I'll download it shortly.

Nice work people.

Janszoon 02-14-2009 09:44 AM

Wow. I have not heard of a single on of these bands, I'll have to give this a listen.

So what's the story with this thing? How did it come about?

lucifer_sam 02-14-2009 09:49 AM

Mogwai - dac?
Jimmy Chamberlain Complex - RezZ

Alfred 02-14-2009 09:53 AM

My track isn't here. :(

Neither's my second one... ah well.

At this early stage, I'm guessing Mogwai is Dac's pick as well.

Correct!..and apologies for a couple of tracks that were missed but don't worry they can be included on future releases.

As for you lot slow on the uptake- there have been constant reminders for a week or so :banghead:

Alfred 02-14-2009 12:21 PM

Yeah, but I sent it in on time.

Oh well, just stick my track on the March Comp.

NSW 02-14-2009 12:52 PM

My WMP won't play the 'Sexualised' track, I'm assuming because it's an .m4a format???

I'm going to guess the Ester Drang is Jackhammer's.

I use foobar2000 . it plays any type of music file and doesn't use the same system resources as WMP. You can scrobble with it too. oh and your'e wrong with the track :p:

ProggyMan 02-14-2009 01:30 PM

On the D/L, trying to clear some space on my comp for it.

No way...I was sure I had that one pegged! ::Keeps listening::

ProggyMan 02-14-2009 01:34 PM

Since there aren't any lyrics from the songs I put in the comp in my sig this time, maybe it'll take a little longer for someone to guess.

Piss Me Off 02-14-2009 01:35 PM

Did you do the Bong Ra one Jackhammer? What a choon!

I would have to guess Jean Claude Vannier- L'enfant La Mouche Et Les Allumettes for him. Just because its close to Jean Claude Van Damn.

There were probably only two people who could have guessed that as they were the only ones to reply in my thread about him! Yes it's a storming tune.

It's a shame you can't hear that track as it's damn good.

FaSho 02-14-2009 01:52 PM

Damn this a good comp, guesses later. I doubt anyone will get mine :D

ProggyMan 02-14-2009 01:53 PM

Erg, my stupid computer says it doesn't have enough memory no matter how much space I clear.

FALL OUT BOY? LOLOL GET IT

Nah, but seriously. Is it American Music Club?

FaSho 02-14-2009 02:20 PM

I wish. That's the best track. I need an album for sure

Haha, nice. Wish I could do something about that album, but I don't have any, sorry.
So can someone explain to me how I send songs in or I can at all?

4ZZZ 02-14-2009 11:34 PM

I have to say that I love these compilations. I am introduced to artists that I have never heard of before. In fact there are only 2 that I recognise from this comp. My contribution:) and one other.

Valley Of the Giants is not my contribution I might add but what a cracking track on only one listen. I guess FaSho.

I like Exuma a lot too and reckon that may be jackhammer.

Janszoon 02-14-2009 11:37 PM

Could someone explain what the story is with this comp? Is this part of a series that people have been doing? I feel like I've been totally missing out on something here.

Well I believe it works like this...> Everyone may send a song to Jackhammer for the compilation. As soon as there is enough it is posted here. Once everyone guesses who submitted what tracks then its time to move on to the next compilation.

Here is the 1st thread.
The 2 compilations can still be uploaded and who contributed is in the thread. You have been missing out as sure beats stuff like that Jooiigggloo wank face paint rot that everyone seems to be sadly contributing to. This to me is what this forum should be about, not that.

Get a track into jackhammer for the 2nd compilation. I am keen to guess what you contribute.

Demonoid 02-15-2009 12:48 AM

This definitely is a cracking mix!

Exuma ---- Either Terrible Lizard or Proggy man. (I've noticed them mention this before)

American Music Club ---- 4ZZZ?

So is there any criteria to the song we submit? Just something you like?

Thats what I have been doing. I am trying to mix the styles but I suspect that I may not as I have been picked quickly so far haa haa!

Heh. I have to get in on this. :)

Janszoon 02-15-2009 02:10 AM

I'm guessing Jean Claude Vannier's "L'enfant La Mouche Et Les Allumettes" is from Demonoid.

Damn! I'm getting a bit predictable with this weird stuff :p:.

Yeah, it has a great atmosphere. I was in the mood for it, which helped even more.

Predictable only in the sense that you consistently post really interesting stuff. :D

I don't think it is weird and it's also a top track. Annoyed at myself for not picking it as yours though. Previously you have posted some great non English speaking music so it should have twigged.

Demonoid 02-15-2009 04:12 AM

Well, he did all the arrangements on Serge Gainsbourg's 'Melody Nelson'. The entire record is basically the same thing, minus the vocals. Both are well worth a listen if you like deep orchestration, mixed with funky guitars and cinematic kind of atmosphere.
