Heh. That's kind of a funny coincidence.

Photos from my punk years

Most of the photos were taken between 1977 and 1980 at either:

The Rat in Boston or

CBGB in New York City

The Cars at an early gig at the Rat... 1978

Mission of Burma at an early gig in 1980. I think photo was taken at the Underground, an old laundromat that was converted into a tiny music club on Commonwealth Ave. near Boston University. I saw Joy Division at the Underground who had rechristened themselves as New Order after Ian Curtis committed suicide on a few weeks before their first American tour.

More photos from my punk years

The Stanglers at the Rat 1978

The Dead Boys at the Rat 1978

The Young Snakes rehearsing sometime around 1979. The Young Snakes were Aimee Mann's first band in Boston and yes that's a 16 or 17 year old Aimee singing at the mike.

Jeff Monoman of the Lyres at the Rat. The Lyres were the best of the second wave garage bands and Boston legend.

Stiv Bators of the Dead Boys at an after show party in 1978.

Blondie at a local radio station sponsored event in 1979

Ramones 1977?. I think photo was taken at CBGBs, but I'm not sure because the Ramones always had the same exact clothes and hairdos whenever they performed and I've seen them at least two dozen times. In fact, Joey Ramone was probably wearing the same torn jeans and leather jacket during the Ramones' last tour in 1995 that he wore when the Ramones first appeared at CBGB in 1976.

Hey, thanks red!
It's an interesting job and I really like the work, so I never get bored or feel underappreciated by my bosses.
I just grabbed these few photos.. I have more..lots more.

Thanks for the kind words.
