I've started to get into instant film now that I found out about The Impossible Project. :P
Picked up an old but nice Polaroid 600 and ordered some film. It'll take me a bit to get the light exposure right, but it's really fun. Might try a SX-70 next.

I want a decent camera so I can take amazing photos of the castle. Theres also an abandoned one I'd like to take photos of but thats a tiny bit further away.

Does it have a good zoom? One of the best features of my "little Kodak" is its zoom. Quite good, I think, considering it's just a compact camera... And that's pretty nice to me, because I love to photograph details at buildings: sculptures, reliefs, corbels, gargoyles, pinnacles, medaillons, ornaments, domes, etc.:


The sculpture in the last pic is named Aerial Accident. :laughing: Modern sculptors make nice works sometimes.

Do it! Do it anyway. Always photograph every historical thing you see. Even the most "ruined ruins" may be interesting, if you know the history behind them. My aunt and uncle have a house next to an abandoned Castilian castle ("Castilian castle" sounds "redundant" because Castile means "land of castles" :)). At the beginning, they attached no importance to it, but later on they found out that it was a relevant castle, and it even was owned by several kings.

BTW, for the past days I've been trying a compact Lumix (Panasonic). I don't know if it is due to its X8 zoom or its 14 megapixels (I have no idea of how these two features are interrelated), but the results seem to be excellent to me:




I'm developing a strong "Japanese-tourist syndrome". When I walk the streets, I feel a need to photograph almost everything I see. So I always carry my pocket camera. And I never know what I might find. For instance, yesterday, while walking beside a train station, I saw two giant baby-heads. Really. No joking:

Just 30 or so minutes ago I spotted a possum in the backyard from my bedroom. So I took some pictures, and a video. It's only the second time I've seen a possum in this area (well the third if you count the dead one I found under my car last year), and the first I've seen in the winter. Apparently they don't hibernate! Here's the pics, sorry for the quality. I took them and uploaded them rather quickly.

Still charging the batteries but it turned on and the screen looked pretty nice.
It was only 10 euro's at a bootsale so I couldn't resist :D.
Looked at some sample pics and it seems like it's a pretty decent thing.
