Yea, I dont think Torts is the guy for the gig.
I see where you're coming from saying you gotta beat em with skill and speed...But in the 2011 finals...all Vancouver needed was a guy like Bickel on the first line with the twins, someone to fight back a bit and let them know they wont just be pushovers..as they were.

The Bruins need to make some major adjustments though. They were absolutely putrid at getting the puck safely out of their zone on breakouts. I've never seen so many plays result in either the Bruins turning the puck over or icing it. Also, the Blackhawks were allowed to enter the zone way too easily on a consistent basis. Those were two areas that the Bruins excelled at against the Pens. You have to credit the Blackhawks' great team speed and their tenacious forecheck for that, but the Bruins could still have been WAY better in that regard. Thankfully, the Bruins were able to collapse around Rask well last night to negate a lot of scoring opportunities. I also thought the Bruins were able to establish a presence in the Blackhawks d-zone very easily last night when they were in the offensive end. I thought that would be the Bruins main strength against Chicago, but their big bodies really had their way with the Blackhawks' smaller D for the most part. The Blackhawks got some good bounces, but they also had a lot of opportunities that missed that could have gone in as well. They dominated the last 40 minutes of regulation as far as I'm concerned and the Bruins simply have to be a lot better. |

They were saying he might be out for the series but now it looks like he's just day-to-day, which is good. It sounds like he popped his shoulder out. They could bump Seguin up to the first line (I thought he looked fantastic in game 1 and was one of the Bruins better players), and put Soderberg in on the third line and it wouldn't be that bad, but Horton has been one of their better players so it would definitely be a big loss.

Bruins played the best they've played in a long time in game 3 and the worst they've played in a long time in game 4. Looks like Crawford is getting exposed a bit though. High glove, every time. It's like Reimer all over again.

Never thought Id be glad to see Chicago win the cup...I feel so dirty haha. The lesser of two evils. Its great to see a bunch of those good Canadian boys hoist another cup though...Toewser, Keith, Seabrook, Shaw to name a few. You'd have to think with the inconsistency of Canadian tendys lately, Crawford could very well have put himself on the short list for the winter olympics. You'd have to think unfortunately that Marc Andre Fleury has played his way off that list...and I think the top 3 could possibly look like Lou, Price, and Crawford or Ward.. But anyways, we'll leave that for another discussion. Here's a beautiful shot from the playoffs..
Shaw about to start to chain saw on that filthy rat Marchand. Also, Bryz bought out today, and Kipper announces retirement. Things should get interesting here in the next couple days approaching the draft.
