I'm listening to the Habs broadcast on my phone. Just to recap, going in I thought that the 'Ning would come out with a renewed sense of purpose. Eleven seconds in, there's the 1-0 lead and the Bell Centre just erupts. So I reverse my call, sounds like the Habs are gonna run away and hide. Then neither team gets an upperhand until that crazy second period, the Tampa goal, which was when I edited my previous post. Then Montreal scores, proving that I am indeed every bit the idiot I thought I was. Along the way, the no goal, the Stamkos offsides, and the Montreal radio team is saying that the officiating crew is just living in buzzland, and I quote "makeup call after makeup call after makeup call" and that even though it benefited the Habs the no goal call and the offsides call were bullcrap.

So, third period is underway and it's really anybody's game.

Just made this after hearing Elliotte Friedman talk about Torres' outstanding 5on5 numbers on CBC. Yeesh. One of the best 4th liners out there.

And coincidentally the sharks look like a team getting ready for a long spring.

^ That'd be good to see, Sharks are one of 3 teams in the playoffs (the other two being the Wild and Blue Jackets) that have never played in the finals. The Blues played for the cup (and lost) in the first yeas of the franchise but it's been forever. I'd really love to see any of those teams go to the finals. Well, I think the Wild are on the way out, but...yeah

Tomas Hertl Continues To Be Adorable

In fact, during a road trip to Anaheim earlier this month, those elements all combined. Nieto introduced Hertl to a 20-something's idea of dining heaven — the Dave & Buster's chain that features large-screen televisions and arcade games. They played a few of them and then watched sports on TV while eating. Hertl was captivated.

"He didn't know you can play the games and get prizes, so he went back by himself," Nieto said. "Next time I came back to the hotel room, he had three of those stuffed characters from 'Despicable Me' on his bed.' He was like a big kid."

In WHL news, Portland & Kelowna are playing for the West, Edmonton and Medicine Hat are in the East finals. The Winterhawks (who became my team once the Silvertips were eliminated) split games one and two in the Okanogan, then when the series moved to my hometown the Hawks won a THRILLING OT game three in much the same way as CBJ beat the Penguins last night. Then game 4 was all Winterhawks 5-1, putting the CHL's top ranked Rockets on the precipice of elimination three games to one.

Edmonton, as expected, leads their series with Medicine Hat 3-1, so it's looking like the Winterhawks and Oil Kings are on a collision course for the right to play for the Ed Chynoweth Cup.

Curious if Nine would have a favorite in that series, you mentioned earlier that you root for Portland to some degree...

Ha yeah id cheer for the oil kings. I like Portland mainly because I had a friend who used to play goal for them a few years ago

Well we'll be at odds then. The Oil Kings are good but the Winterhawks are better.

You're a Kings fan?

I'm rooting for CBJ as my underdog team this year. Funny that only a couple years ago that underdog team was the Kings.
