If the playoffs started there wouldn't be any Canadian teams in.

F*ck yeah, Blackhawks/Capitals on NBC w00t

Dude will win the Norris by a landslide. The Hart is going to Patrick Kane though. He will win that and the Art Ross.

Ninetales 03-05-2016 12:22 PM

Yeah can't be too upset if Kane wins. He's also having a ridiculous year. Plus Ottawa is missing the playoffs, and players rarely win MVP when their team misses.

Paul Smeenus 03-05-2016 12:29 PM

How about all the moves that the Blackhawks have made! I'm impressed, I like to see teams go all-in like that.

Thom Yorke 03-10-2016 01:07 PM

Bergeron, anyone? I know I'm incredibly biased but he's been absolutely insane this year. Best defensive forward while being right up there offensively (not Kane level of course, but the group below Kane). Considering Boston as a team has major defensive flaws (they're better now than when the season started, but I still think they're among the worst in the league as a unit), it's actually pretty alarming what he's been doing. You watch him in a game against Chicago, and he's tasked with shutting down the best offensive line in the league. He does that (including an awesome forced turnover on Panarin leading to the Marchand goal, which he did not even get a point for), and stacks a multi-point night on top of it as well. Just kind of a microcosm of what he does. Do unto their top players what you will not let them do unto you. The Bergy Golden Rule.

Odds are obviously stacked against him as Kane's point gap is ludicrous, but I really do think he should get some recognition for this season in particular, and not just the Selke. Marchand is en feugo as well of course, but Bergeron is the straw that stirs their drink. Whatever, there's my piece.

Paul Smeenus 03-10-2016 01:27 PM

^ Dude basically owns the Selke this decade

Ninetales 03-10-2016 02:54 PM

oh yeah no arguments here. Bergeron is the best 2way forward in the game.

as for him getting awards other than the selke, unfortunately not. especially with marchand being there to split the votes

Marchand's having a great year but split the votes? That would be similar to Panarin getting Hart votes. This isn't a Washington situation where you have multiple players really close in play. There's a clear top dog.

And that's not even to mention that Kane has the likely Vezina winner on his team.
