Also, Luke Schenn is a beast in the making... been watching him for fantasy hockey purposes, and the kid is flirting with top 10 in the league for both blocked shots and hits. His point totals ought to see a boost now that he's expected to move the puck a little more with Kaberle gone. Your team is not that bad this season, and has youth in all places. Consistency out of Kessel and health out of the netminders and you've got a playoff team this season.
I would love to see the Leafs in the playoffs again. Hopefully this year, if they keep it up. Kaberle being traded is a sign that the team is seriously being rebuilt, which makes me happy. It's taken a few years, but I think they're almost there. Khadri is amazing, I had been watching him in the minors for a little bit before he was drafted. I think consistency from the whole team is really essential at this point.

Yea, the leafs to me, are like the dolphins to the bills. I do however love to see my boy MacAuthur tearing it up.

On another note, the Sabs just got a new owner, Terry Pegula, whom I absolustely love so far. Watching his press conference almost made me cry. He is from western NY and understands the town's love for the team, and he is willing to invest money to bring us a cup.

Trade deadline day was a little less than what people expected I think. Considering how many deals there were in the days building up to the deadline. Penner is the biggest name to move cities, probably followed by Arnott I guess. Canucks picked up Maxim Lapierre. Hes gonna be the fit for the fourth line center. Its gonna be nice to see a gritty player on the ice with the ability to move up lines now that Burr and Kes have focused more on their play, and less on their chirping.

I agree, the deadline was a bit weak. I am not a big fan of Lapierre, only because he played in Montreal, and has been shopped around alot. Buffalo got Boyes from the Blues. I like him for many reasons, but mainly his durability, he plays every game. He scored tonight in his first game in Buffalo's 3-2 win over the Rangers, which makes me like him more. I'm pumped, but only half as pumped as I am to have Terry Pegula as the new owner. Any hockey fan wants to hear the owner (who is from Western NY btw) say he is not in this as a financial investment and that he is willing to spend the money to bring our city a cup. I would have his babies if it were possible. The Sabs have only one loss under Pegula, which was an OTL where they blew a 2 goal lead with under a minute left to Dteroit, so I think they feel it too! A great boost to the organization.

So after deadline day here's how I rank the teams:

Elite - Main Cup contenders
1. Red Wings
2. Flyers
3. Canucks
4. Bruins

2nd Tier - Could do some damage in the playoffs
5. Sharks
6. Penguins
7. Capitals
8. Blackhawks
9. Lightning
10. Kings

Pretenders - Most likely 1st or 2nd round exit if they make it in
11. Coyotes
12. Canadiens
13. Flames
14. Rangers
15. Stars
16. Predators
17. Ducks
18. Sabres
19. Hurricanes
20. Wild

The Rest
21. Devils
22. Blue Jackets
23. Blues
24. Leafs
25. Thrashers
26. Panthers
27. Avalanche
28. Islanders
29. Senators
30. Oilers

The Penguins and Devils are the toughest ones to place. If the Penguins are healthy (ie. Crosby comes back healthy), they become an elite team. If the Devils are able to make it into the playoff picture, they could jump up to the second tier.

Best game of the season the other day. I want Canucks/Sharks WCF.

Most wide-open race for the Hart I've seen in a long time. Sedin, Stamkos, Toews, Thomas, Price... I wouldn't be surprised to see any of those 5 win it.

By the way, did anybody see this?

There's more than one team? -> Yes -> Do you want to win right now? -> Yes -> Because F**K YOU

Weird game. I'd say the Bruins outplayed them for most of the game. Difference was awful goaltending by Thomas and amazing goaltending by Reimer.

And that wasn't cool what Phaneuf did. If you're going to fight, take your helmet off if the other guy does.

Can't blame Rask either. Seidenberg's ass was in his face for a good 10 seconds there.
