Ehhhh...use OPS or OPS+ if you use rate stats. They a lot more reliable then batting average. A-Rod does tend to choke though.

I'm suprised Jeter's sudden decline. His OBP is 38 points down and his SLG is 60 points down. His range has seemed to increase.

And finally - has anyone been watching Masterson (of the Red Sox)? He got the call up and is whiffing batters well. His sinker is downright dirty. Lester too has been the most consistent starter of the Sox this season. All the young-ins finally growing up.

but if OPS+ takes in most offensive stats and is better than batting average, why not use it?

It really sucks being an Orioles fan. We haven't had a 'winning' season in a long time.

My husband is an Orioles fan.... I am a Red Sox fan... the only time I route for the Orioles is when they are playing a team that is close to catching up to the Red Sox... although...who knows what is going on with them....

I want Manny to choke. In a huge way...but that doesn't seem to happen so I just want the Dodgers to lose. Yankees got enough shame through 3rd place this year.
