I liked Bradford and the Indiana guy but the rest of our draft sucked.

Mike Tannenbaum just had himself a hell of an offseason. Outside of releasing Alan Faneca, which I'm still a little split on, the Jets have simply stockpiled talent.

1. Kyle Wison- fell to pick 29? Some people had him rated higher than Joe Haden (7th overall). This could be a steal.
2. Ducasse- Faneca's potential replacement; hopefully they know what they're doing here.
3. Joey McKnight- a younger Leon Washington.

Add in 12 games of Santonio Holmes, Antonio Cromartie, LT, Jason freaking Taylor... I mean, are you kidding me?! This could be a defense for the ages, and the offense just needs to keep doing what they did late in the season/playoffs... minimize turnovers, and do less harm than good.

At first, I was jealous of all the great offseason additions by the Jets, some really good pickups. Further into the draft, Im not so sure, especially with the whole runningback situation. That Conner Washington trade seems crazy to me, but we shall see how it works out. Jets should crush it this year, but it seems like they gave away alot of future draft picks for vets, and you know what that tends to lead to.

Either way, it was better than Buffalo taking Spiller, the last position we need to fill.

The only thing is though, that the Jets need to win the SB this year because with the cap surely coming back next season, I don't know how they can manage to keep all of those players happy with the huge contracts they'd be demanding. Other than that though, I'd be extremely optimistic about being a Jets' fan this upcoming season.

I was kind of displeased when the Bills snagged CJ Spiller but then I realized you guys passed on what my team really needed... an OT. I'd gladly take Anthony Davis and Mike Iupati in this draft.

Jets aren't winning a Superbowl unless Sanchez makes a massive leap.

crash_override 04-28-2010 08:10 PM

Jets look nearly perfect on paper. Sanchez just needs to throw more touchdowns than INT's and they will make a deep run.

debaserr 04-28-2010 09:04 PM

teams that look nearly perfect on paper usually disappoint.

Agreed. Nix seems to put it all out on the table honestly, at least thus far into his reign. He stated that they are not looking to trade Lynch, which disappoints me further. I would have loved to draft Davis, but hopefully this kid will be the next AP and make me eat my words.

CJ Spiller is more in the type of mold of a Chris Johnson (my vote for best RB in the league). He's dynamic in every aspect of the game. He'll provide a great change-of-pace style to compliment either Fred Jackson or Marshawn Lynch. You'll soon love him when he returns the opening kickoff of a game to the house and then follows it up with a 68 yard scramble.
