McCoy doesn't have the measurables like a lot of other guys. Doesn't have the strongest arm and he's a skinnier 6 foot. But I think he's really smart, very accurate short range and hitting check downs, and I think he just understands what he needs to do out there. He knows his limitations and doesn't try to do too much.

One thing that should be interesting is the Cowboys next year. They have a ton of talent (though some of it is overrated - Roy Williams). And now they are going to finish with a lousy record and get a really high draft pick.

i need to see him play at some point. but I rarely have the chance to see the browns as I'm in the indy market and don't have directv.

i don't know anyone that overrates roy williams at this point. and I doubt the 'boys will ever go far in the playoffs with romo.

Dirty 11-05-2010 10:23 PM

I think romo is a pretty good QB. Don't think he's really the problem. Wade Phillips needs to go. Most of the Cowboys problems are with discipline and fundamentals and that comes form coaching. Wade phillips is a complete enabler and doesn't have the right mindset or attitude to be a head coach of a team like Dallas. They need someone who isn't afraid to put a player in their place or call somebody out. Wade's ho-hum demeanor just doesn't work there.

pretty good with an OK defense doesn't scare me. he also seems to melt under pressure 9/10 times.

and yes jerry should've fired wade years ago. if you watch a 'boys game on tv, he always has this dumb look on his face and you never see him talking to anyone.

Pretty good with an ok defense doesn't scare anyone, but it's not like you can go out and just pick elite QBs off of trees. Romo is definitely top half of the league in QB rank. They can't run the ball at all though. Just a terrible running game, you can't just rely on big runs by Felix Jones. I do think Dez Bryant is the real deal though. Cowboys got a steal with him slipping to them in the draft.

QB is of utmost importance come playoff time. he'd have to luck out to get far. and the fact is that most championships are won by elite QBs...

i'm gonna laugh really hard if they bump jason garrett up to head coach. they suck at running the ball because they don't stick with it. the 'boys have 3 solid backs and a good run-blocking line.

dez bryant is destined for superstar status. next year or one after that. he has hall of fame type skill. really fun to watch.

I can't pin that much on Romo. He's been a pro bowler 3 of the 4 years he has been starting and has one of the highest QB ratings ever for a career. He's thrown about double the TDs as interceptions. I think it's more lack of leadership from a coaching position. I don't think Romo is the type of leader guys like Peyton, Brees, brady, Rodgers, Rivers, Big Ben, etc are.

Has to be tough being a Dallas coach with Jerry Jones looming over you with his ego. I think he hired Wade and stayed with him because he's a guy you can kind of push around and isn't gonna really speak up or question anything Jerry says or does. Safe to say Wade is probably gone next year.

how much do you really know that these guys are leaders? i mean peyton sure but past that i don't really hear about that. i suppose they all lead by example well.

the reason why wade is still coach is jerry's ego. he didn't want to admit to making a mistake when it's been clear for years. i bet he goes with a big name that will take control like: cowher, gruden, parcells, or john fox. but jerry taking a lesser role in personnel decisions? no chance. to be honest, their roster is very good from a talent perspective. not so sure about how good they are in terms of fit...

Exactly right about Jerry's ego. He doesn't understand the importance of having a winning system. You look at the good teams and most of them have a system, an identity. They get guys who fit what they are trying to do. Instead the Cowboys just get guys who are talented and try to make them fit a system. It's pretty pathetic if you think about it that the Cowboys haven't been able to win a playoff game since the days of Emmitt, Aikman, Irvin, etc. Man, those teams were awesome, I loved that offense.

I see all of those other QBs taking charge with intensity. Romo seems too laid back and calm, I wanna see more fire out of him. I just don't think he has that killer instinct mentality. I feel like when those other QBs smell blood in the water, they go right for the kill. I still think Romo is a good QB, but different teams have different leaders and nobody on Dallas is calling out guys for making the SAME stupid moves and penalties every single week.

Vick is coming back this week. I'm really lookin forward to Eagles - Colts this Sunday.

the vikings actually looked like a good football team for a quarter!
