Great body weight work out = tricep dips. I use these two, equally tall, desks I've got to lace my hands on, and I either alternate putting a foot up on the bed, go with no feet up on the bed, or both feet up on the bed.

I've worked out a routine involving which is: hindu pushups ---> tricep dips ---> bodyweight squats. I just do one set of each, and then move on, and then come back full circle... until I'm tuckered out. Scientific, I know.

Anyways, I like it because the Hindus & Dips work some of the same muscle groups, but seem to go at it differently. Each one of these exercises works my chest/arms/back, but each muscle group gets far more tired if I switch it up rather than focusing on one upper-body bodyweight exercise for a night.

This Russian body workout looks promising. I'm gonna have to give it a shot sometime!

Started hitting the weight room again. Lots of extra gym time with my new job and schedule.

Question for you guys: How important are legs workouts? I don't do much legs, it just feels like a waste of time to me. I do a lot of biceps, triceps, chest, shoulder, forearms but I just don't do much legs. I have pretty solid legs from years of sports, but I'm only lifting for aesthetics and not any type of sports training or strength. Should I start adding in some leg workout? What say you?

That Russian workout video makes me cringe. Just watching them up there scares me witless.

I barely touch my legs either, maybe couple a leg and back work out every now and again, but I surmise that your legs will get enough of a work out from cardio work, i.e. running, cross training, cycling, etc.

Even for the reasons you claimed, I'd recommend working your legs because:

1) Stronger lower body = stronger upper body. Take the bench press as an example; you'll be able to lift more if you've your feet planted as opposed to just sticking straight out.

2) Larger, stronger leg/lower body will raise your resting metabolic rate.

3) Aesthetically, it's important. You'll look weird as hell at the beach if you don't, and - besides - girls don't just focus on the upper body.

What this guy said, plus a lot of the compound lifts that build big legs (squats, deadlifts, etc.) also work your upper body, so it's like killing two birds with one stone.

Plus chicken legs and a huger upper body will make you look like a Jersey Shore bro.

I now run every single day without fail. Have been for a month or so now.

Embarrassingly enough, alot of my workout tunes are disco or bad '80s and '90s acts. They're just so easy to run to.

One of my more awkward moments consisted of me passing another jogger while listening to "Strong Enough" by Cher.

He actually spoke to me, and was like, "Are you seriously listening to Cher?"

I kinda crank my music in my 'phones, so that people around me could probably hear it. I was just like, "Uh, totes," and continued jogging past him.

I'm still not quite in 5k shape, though. I can make it about a mile before I have to take a brief break to walk.

Exactly what HHBH said, big arms shoulders and pecs aren't everything. A nice equal balance is good. A guy my mate goes out with has the biggest arms I've ever seen and we all went swimming, I couldn't stop loling at his legs to the point it probably got rude, but it was ridiculous.

I started doing weight training again today. The only muscles that really seem to have atrophied when I was just doing bodyweight training were my biceps, those forearm wrist muscle things, the back muscles between the shoulder blades, and my traps (to a far lesser extent).....

The biceps seem have suffered the most. I seriously think my triceps are now stronger than my biceps. I don't know if I like that, but it does say a lot about how effective hindu push ups & tricep dips are.

That's really impressive; my cardio endurance is extremely limited.... and, honestly, I more or less said **** it in regards to running and now just focus on riding my bike for cardio.
