I have sciatica in my left upper leg so I know the feeling. Still, I wanna push myself so that I can get into a good swing of working out every day.

Have made the mistake of attempting to lift previous weights after a few months off before instead of lowering them. That was when it was really bad.

So I have a broken ankle and 90% of my exercise before this was walking or running. I'll be in a splint/cast for at least a month and I don't want to become a (bigger) fatty while I'm immobile. Any tips?

Do you have an exercise bike available? That could be a good alternative.

I don't, but wouldn't that be hard with a cast?

You could just use one foot. I've done it before. It's awkward but it gives you a sweat still. Maybe do pull ups or sit ups etc. Or lift weights.
