Some players. Or more precisely, a player from Athletic Bilbao.

That happens everywhere, and for many possible reasons. For instance, imagine a footballer you intensely hate just because he plays in your team's rival League club. One day you find an excuse to criticize him, but instead of doing it in strictly sport terms, you prefer to mess with him joking about his physical appearance.

There is a backlash against them yes in football terms but not in racial this is the point being made in this example.
That's a chaotic mixture of many things. Sorry, but I don't understand you. I didn't refer to nationalist points of view but to the general political leanings of the Spanish press. To emphasize that those supposed xenophobic or racist attitudes you mentioned would be very frowned upon among the mainstream media.

Saw that Ronaldo is being blamed for spitting at the feet of a camerman. I saw the incident yesterday and it looked to me that he was just spitting at the floor and nothing more.

Definite intent.
He knew what he was doing.
He looked straight at the camera and spat in that direction.
Ronaldo still hasn't grown up!

Apparently, the President of Nigeria has suspended the national team for two years, in order to get the structure of Nigerian football sorted out after their very poor world cup.

The president's name jynx'd the Nigerians.

If you support France, I'm surprised you haven't felt that feeling from day 1.
