What a thrilling match! I started sweating during the second half. Amazing play from both teams, but after watching some highlights, seems as though Uruguay was getting a bit messy towards the end. I was so convinced Forlan was going to make that shot! I was looking forward to seeing some extra time ans possibly penalty kicks, but it was thrilling as is. Can't wait for tomorrow!!

Getting all hot and sweaty over a third/fourth place match!!! I suppose there`s a first for everything.

Also, you gotta have some sympathy of Suarez, it must be a terrible feeling having an entire continent hate your guts.
I would much rather have my country advance in the World Cup than be loved/liked/tolerated by some other country and/or continent. He's a hero to his country and that's all that really matters. I would find a lot of comfort in that.

Luis Suarez is the man.

I'm disappointed that Uruguay couldn't do it tonight as they have impressed me so much throughout the tournament but I can't argue that Germany didn't deserve this one. They have had a great tournament and were even looking like they were going to be the favourites to win it. They are organised, disciplined, they have looked clinical infront of goal and have been near-perfect tactically. Its strange to see such an entertaining German side.

Diego Forlan is the striker of the tournament for me though.

Something I only found out today.
U.S.A. came 3rd in the first ever World Cup in 1930.

Well I never!

Pretty fantastic game, I never expected such play in a bronze game. The Germans deserved a medal.

Spain should just about edge out Netherlands tonight, although I'm not expecting a particularly good performance from either side on current form.

Just as amazing, is the fact that they had one of the leading goalscorers of that competition in Bert Patanaude, who is credted with scoring the first ever hat-trick in World Cup history!

They are they only country of the original finalists, where football never became the dominant sport within their own country.
