I've actually gotten into soccer recently but I'll probably only stick around for the cup. After it's over I'll be back to normal. I'm not big into any sports to be honest (although I strangely enjoy curling), but for what it's worth: it beats the hell out of baseball and football.

Anyone remember the exact quote from Portugal/Cote D'Ivoire today...

It's after another Ronaldo dive, something along the lines of: 'You know Ronaldo is going down with any contact. Even a puff or air could send him down.'

Loved that.

Didn't see that, but it makes me think Kobe Bryant could play for them if that's the case.

Thats the exact reason I can't watch soccer. So many of the players are a fuckin disgrace. The refs dont do a thing about it either.

We've actually seen a rather large degree of yellow cards due to diving, methinks.

Spain are painful to watch, I have Villa and Xavi in my fantasy football team. So upsetting.

It's the only thing about football that I despise.

What is up with the world cup so far? Far from convincing performances from Italy, Portugal, England, France and now Spain slip up against Switzerland.

That Spain-Switzerland tie was easily the most entertaining game I've seen in this tournament so far. Always great to see the underdogs upset the odds like that - I think that was only Spain's second defeat in at least 2 years. Their potentially group-deciding game against Chile should be a bit more interesting at this rate.
