We have to adjust it so we can call it football. there's nothing like a burger and a pint just before football.
Oh yea of little faith.

An education dear fellows;

Far from being an Americanism the word "soccer" has it's origins in England and was later transported to the unbelievers.
Over the years the word "soccer" was replaced by the word "football".

The word "soccer" originated as an "Oxford '-er'" slang abbreviation of "association", and was popularized by a prominent English footballer, Charles Wreford-Brown. This origin is evident in the sometimes-heard variation, "soccer football." Wiki

I don't care, it's FOOTBALL.

On another note, that French coach is a disgrace. Not shaking the opposition managers hand, no excuses.

@ mojo

Ha ^

Show me a source that proves "soccer" has any other origin other than England.
Along with an explanation of what it means and how it derived.

Or concede...

Edit: nice edit btw

Regardless of its origins RT, there are few nations left now where 'Soccer' is the official name of the sport according to its governing body. Even the Aussies caved.

Made funnier when they aren't aware of it's origins and especially when they use it in an attempt to piss you off.

Which was my point...sort of.
