Any thoughts on Beyonce being the Super Bowl entertainment this year?

Sparky 10-20-2012 07:58 PM

i think it will be nice.

If Beyonce is doing the superbowl, in my opinion, that will be at least the 3rd year in a row of garbage. And Tom Petty was only mediocre, but at least it was good. How hard is it to book someone relevant for the supposed biggest game of the year?

The groups that they book have always puzzled me. From 2005 to last year they almost exclusively went with bands/artists that were biggest in the 60s/70s/80s. Really, the most culturally relevant group they've brought out in the last 10 years was the Black Eyed Peas (at least for the younger audience, but I think that's who they need to target), and I think they were past the peak of their popularity when they had them on as well.

Honestly I dont mind looking at Beyonce perform a halftime show. Not all that into her music but I cant remember the last time they had someone who's music I did like anyway. At least she's easy on the eyes

Is it just me or is the NFL plagued with more injurys this year? It seems like every team week in and week out is suffering 2 or 3 substancial injurys to players in a game. Is it just the fact that the awareness has heightened or in relation to the less contact in practice rule that was implemented this last offseason by many of the teams. Also if my memory serves me correctly a some of the teams are practicing without pads as well. With all of the rules put in place to protect players in the last decade you would think the risk of injury would have gone down considerably but it seems only the QB's are benefitting from most of this. I still disagree with some of what has taken place rule wise because of the potential of how it would affect the speed of the game. Also it doesn't seem to be all that effective and only leads to ridiculous penaltys at the most crucial moments possible in a game.
