the padres made the biggest deal lol

more i think about it the happier i am the pirates didnt force anything. they have a great mlb team and a great farm system and im glad they didnt get rid of any big dogs in their system. especially polanco who a lot of people are saying is going to be a star..... i already think marte is a stud in left, if polanco can play right field in the coming yeears then pitt will have the best outfield in the game

i want pirates to hold on sooo badly, the atmosphoere around here is so awesome right now. goin to the game tomorrow!!!!

a-rod gets a 211 game suspension

everyone saw it comin. i was/am a huge curt schilling fan and he is totalyl right that baseball needs harsher punishments if they wanna realyl get rid of PED. their system doesnt work, they never catch anyone (these guys got caught cause of a rat basically), and the reward FAR outweighs the risk.

melky got caught, then even created a fake website to try to cover it up lol, took his 50 games and still got a nice contract.

also lol at the yankees who i hate. they hoped for a life ban to get out of his contract. thats what you get for bein short sighted and signin guys to crazy guaranteed contracts. they will save money while hes suspended but pay the remainder...EAT IT!!!!!!!

also me and chameleon discussed this.. i think arod is the most disliked athlete that i can remember. like nobody likes him, not even his own fans.

We're setting up for a pretty exciting finish, especially in the AL. In the NL the only real excitement right now is how the Pirates/Cardinals/Reds end up in the Central, as one of those teams should win the division and the other two should get the wild cards.

In the AL though, the Rays, Orioles, Rangers, Athletics, Indians, Royals, Yankees, etc are all fighting for wild cards or division leads and it should be awesome. I'm personally really pulling for those Royals to make a run and get in!

There has never been a more worthy fan base then KC. They have stood by that horrible team for far too many years with absolutely no hope for a playoff series. I'd love to see them not only make the playoffs but win a series for their fans.

i agree fred. what a terrible run the royals have had. plus its hard to root against small market teams that arent division rivals i think

nl may not be a tight race but living in pitt, the atmosphere is INCREDIBLE!!!! it cant be over stated either what andrew mccutcheon means to baseball here in the burgh. pirates are gonna be really good for years to come, this isnt a fluke

that extra wild card spot was such a great idea. so many more teams still in the race.

I'd love to see Pitt go deep also. Mccutcheon has all the tools and Pitt certainly has the pieces in place. Small market baseball has to make a comeback, watching the same four teams play in the nlcs and alcs each year has become quite boring. Its always nice to see some new blood break through and create a stir in those markets. I'd love to see a Pitt/KC Series, but I was kind of hoping for Baltimore/Pitt a throwback to the 79 series. I used to love watching Stargell/Parker and Murray/Singleton.

as much as i love underdogs i still got a diff kinda love for the powerhouses because i think its more fun when theres a bully on top of the mountain and everyone else is trying to knock him down. so if the pirates do get to the world series i hope its aganst a traditionally successful team of the past 10-20 yrs.

mccutheon is not only just an all around incredible player but he signed a VERY friendly deal and actually WANTS to be here. alvarez is one of the best young power guys in the game and will probably move to 1B at some point. marte is going to be amazing and they have one of the best prospects in baseball int he minors waiting to come up and play RF next year. pirates got a few big time arms in the minors too. its just fun to see, i went to a tuesday game a few weeks ago when cole was pitching and half the stadium didnt get in until the 2nd inning cause the lines were so damn long.

my stepdad is a big orioles fan and ive went to many games at camden yards (beautiful btw) and watched a ton of tv games so i root for them to do well in the AL

I can understand wanting to beat the best and taking out the bully. But I just love it when two smaller market teams can get over the threshold and take out the Evil Money trains. I certainly like what the farm system has been churning out for Pitt, they seem poised to be in the hunt for years. Alen Hanson is a prime pick out of the Dominican Republic. Cole is gonna be stellar and I love Taillon also, he'll be great in the future also. Too bad about J Bell blowing his knee out also. I love the baseball draft in particular. The Angels are my team and its been a rough year. Bad farm system to boot.

man i dunno what your angels can do to get themselves out of the mess of contracts they are gonna find themselves in for the future. that pujols contract is gonna be awful the last few years of it. im not sure whats up with him or why his production dropped.

trout is obviously a stud but other than that i dunno what to think. i thought the angels were destined for the world series or at least playoffs at the beginning of last year.

i do like seeing the west load up on talent though with the angels and dodgers. then you have the two smaller spenders, oakland and san fran being very competitive obviously. the nl west continues to be a joke tho
