Who needs Ronaldo?

French 20 year old Gabriel Obertan made his United debut for the reserves last night. Coming soon to a premier league ground near you!

Looks a great talent, although I'm not going to judge him after playing against some ropey reserve team. Definite potential and I'm sure he's in good hands at MU. Sure he'll progress over the next few seasons and get a few games here in there, especially in the cup games.

Didn't know he was so tall! Quite a unit, assumed he'd be a small winger when they signed him.

BBC SPORT | Football | Premier League | Wigan 1-1 Man City

To be honest, I expected much worse.

Not bad at all in other words. I'll bet any of you £20 we'll get minced by Burnley next week though, as per our hilariously inconsistent start to this season.

There were atleast 2 times in the second half where I thought Wigan were going to take it, to no evail.

Rodallega's close range tap that Given somehow got out and N'Zogbia's offside shot.

Least they would be on a par with MU for one thing, both having poor games against Burnely.

Yeah, to be fair to City, Figueroa's challenge probably did deserve to concede a penalty.

Touch wood though, it does look like the lads are finally gelling and getting the hang of the football Martinez wants them to play. We just need a properly good striker - scratch that, a striker who isn't Jason Scotland - and then we'll be getting more good results like this. Something really should've been done about that before the last transfer window closed.

Does anyone else feel that West Ham are in serious trouble this season? I think that they may be this year's 'Newcastle' if things don't turn around quickly. How long before Zola starts feeling the heat?

I can't believe we're already a quarter of the way through the season...

Mike Newell has been sacked, excellent! To be fair we're 23rd in League Two but I can't see where we're going to get a manager with as much experience as Newell from to replace him. I imagine we'll take the budget option and promote a youth coach or something of the like. We're in trouble!
