Heh definitely the "Henry Hoover".

I don't so much get a kick out of the Wigan thing, at least not in the same way but i think it's good of them. It's not exactly like they are under any kind of obligation to do so at all. It's a nice gesture for what must have been a miserable day.

Yeah imagine losing 9 : 1 AND having to go to a ground full of Spurs fan.

I expect the Tottenham bores to go on & on & on about how they're a big club now.

Actually lets be honest, they never really stopped doing it.

What are everyone's thoughts on technology helping with matters like the Ireland v. France game?

All you need is a challenge system,
A manager is allowed maybe one challenge in each half, they review the tape, if he is successful he gets to keep his challenge.

That way you can use technology but it doesn't keep stopping & starting the game.

Yeah I've been thinking about this for a while (pretty much since tennis introduced challenges) and I agree that it's probably the best way to stop match deciding errors occurring. Maybe not as high a one challenge per half, something like 5 per (league) season to stop players/managers from abusing the system a little and only challenging when absolutely certain. Also the challenge would have to be made instantly, like in tennis.

Also gives a use for the fourth official other than babysitting coaching staff and negates the need for the extra officials especially as there is a shortage already.

No, no, no, no.

You win some you lose some.

Chelsea vs Manchester United, Fletcher's tackle was perfectly fine, Drogba was offside, Terry was fouling someone like the awful cunt always does. (Even though Mr Chelsea was a boyhood Manchester United fan.)

But such is life, we'll get our luck in another game. Technology will slow it down and I don't want that.

There is one minute left of normal time in the Fiorentina v Lyon match. Unless Lyon score, Liverpool are out of the Champions League.

See, i can fully understand your reasoning and i wasn't always in favour of technology either but i think it's gone too far now. I think the "You win some, you lose some" reasoning only makes sense to a point. A bad decision can cost you but in a league season you have a game the following week and 38 of them in total. However can you really apply this same reasoning to say, a cup final? A bad decision in a cup final costs you, full stop. Theres no coming back from it.

I just think that when technology is readily available and players are happily, shamelessly diving and cheating and a countries progress into the world cup finals is being affected by blatant cheating and poor officiating, not just 3 league points, then there comes a time where it's just irresponsible not to start entertaining the idea.

I think it's outrageous that they can still go into the europa league. If you are knocked out of a competition then that's it as far as i'm concerned.
