Wow what a fantastic player Gareth Bale is. Spurs still lost after going in 4-0 down at half time but his performance in the second half was outstanding. Spurs switched off, as many teams would in that situation, but he didn't and his second half hat-trick was just pure class.

Some players don’t want to leave their country, it’s a fact of life, some players are happy in their own country. Some players are happy to leave and Manchester United is always a big attraction for any player. If they don’t want to leave their country then we forget about it.

We need a striker in January and maybe a midfielder in January or in the summer.
I'm all for developing youth, but today we had young players and old players.
No mid 20s. I think we need to develop the 18-22 YOs, but we need to strengthen.
If Fergie keeps saying there's no value in the market come January and come next summer, we're going to have to face facts - there isn't money there.
That said, we all know Fergie's youth policy.
He's always displayed faith in youth. But I feel there's a lack of balance.
That speech however was wonderful, until he started banging on about cows in fields.
