I don't think I've revealed much about myself on here including club loyalties or how much I do or don't watch the game.

I have played football all my life too. I have refereed matches. I don't think this means all that much unless you study how the game works on a technical/tactical level by watching it.

I am going by what people are saying. Like thinking Gerrard/Giggs were better players than Vieira/Pires. I am not saying anyone on here doesn't have a clue, I am just trying to say that I think some of the comments are wrong.

Obviously people can disagree and have their own preference - just like with musical discussion - but I think football is a much more quantifiable subject.

I don't think the comments are wrong though, Gerrard, as technically brilliant he was at his peak, was also superior mentally. Do you think he'd have shat himself in the Anfield tunnel like Vieira did at Highbury? Liverpool wouldn't have won the CL in '05 and FA Cup in '06 were it not for Gerrard's leadership skills. His passing, both long and short, are absolutely brilliant and always have been, he was brilliant for England at the Euros too, if you look at all the tournaments England have bottled it in, Gerrard is usually the one who has played well. He was more of a goal threat going forward and better defensively. Better set pieces, better shooting, better crossing, his all round game was better than Vieira's, I don't see how anyone can say otherwise.

Giggs as I've already said was the quintessential winger. There are no left sided wingers in the PL who were better than an early 90's Giggs, including Pires.

The fact that you think that some of the comments are wrong, Goofle, doesn't really make them wrong. Plus, even if others are wrong, it doesn't mean you're a bigger football fan. Both things have nothing to do with each other.

I think in this case there is a right and wrong. Vieira was a far superior footballer to Gerrard in almost every way, and the gap between Giggs and Pires as probably bigger in terms of talent.

If you were to ask "Which player would you prefer in this specific system?" or something more subjective like that I would agree that my opinion is not automatically correct, but I disagree that there is no right and wrong over who is the best footballer.

But you're right. It's like music. I know a few young girls who seem to like Justin Bieber a lot more than I like Verdi, but it doesn't mean they know anything about music (I don't mean to offend, of course. I tend to respect everyone's taste in music and other things in general). Or you absolutely love the taste of Coca-Cola, yet a scientist who hates it might know its ingredients a lot better. Or perhaps you love money, but you've got no clue how to make it?

Glad the Ba fiasco has finally been put to bed, looking forward to seeing Debuchy in action, I don't think Simmo is that bad defensively (unlike most NUFC fans) but he can't run with the ball at all and him being next to Williamson means we can only play out of defense on the left, or do what we usually do and hoof it up field...

We should create a MB Pub team.

ST: -Franco Pepe Kelle: Brings a bit of added foreign flair to the team. Unorthodox playing style so hard to predict when he has the ball in his feet or when moving in and around the box.

ST: - Right-Track: Compliments the unorthodox style of Franco by being an intelligent, old school striker who takes the ball down and holds it up allowing the two wingers and Goofle to get involved going forward. Team penalty taker.

LM: - Alfred: Probably the youngest guy on the forum, so provides the much needed pace going forward. I seem to remember him saying he was left-handed which is an obvious advantage.

CM: - Mankycaaant- Plays the holding midfield role and provides the glue that bounds the team together. A good on pitch leader and visionary passer. (C)

CM: - Goofle - Bounds of energy and dedication from all the music he gets through, so plays the more attacking role of the two midfielders, chasing down balls and looking to create and join attacks whenever possible.

RM: - Anticipation - Deceptively clever and create-full which allows him to trick full backs and carve open defences with his crossing and set pieces.

LB: - Slow Groove - Being young allows him and Alfred to connect creating a dynamic pairing up the left hand side. Another solid all rounder who is learning from Fred every training session.

CB: - Fluffy Kittens: - I've seen pictures of this guy, and he looks like a beefy Trevor Sinclair. Provides the strength in the back four and his youthful legs allow him to keep up with the leagues top strikers.

CB: - MojopinUk. I don't really have reasoning for this one, he just looks like a no-nonsense centre half who can make a tackle and win a header with no hair to get in his eyes

RB: - Fred Hale Sr. - Another older head. Well disciplined and a solid team player whose work rate usually goes unsung.

GK:- Trollheart: An old reliable head with steady hands; cool under pressure and able to instruct his back four. Also, his days of flying down the wings are over hence the move to goalkeeper.
