Lampard is certainly an all-time great.

If Lampard is an all-time great then Gerrard has to be as well and I don't think he is. |
Gerrard certainly is lol

He's not. He's probably on the tier below with Del Piero, Giggs, Nedved, Davids, Totti... Great players who were among the best of their generation but not quite the cutting edge of the sport. |
Can't limit terms like "all-time great" to your personal favourite ten players. I would say something like the Top 10-15 best players in their position/style ever could be regarded as all-time greats.

Same with the term 'world class', that's used too much. I reckon there's only about 10 players who are worthy of that term. Is Scholes an all-time great? |
Of course.

Sorry, sorry! Meant ENGLISH great! Big mistake to leave out that word. No, I meant alltime English great. I mean, I wouldn't rate him against say David Villa or Messi or Ronaldo, also I don't know that much about European football to make that claim. No, England great.
Sorry guys. :banghead: |
It's mental to even question his stance as an English great. Of course he is.
But as I said, he is an all-time great footballer. |
Not for me, he's never been the best in his position in the world, I do love Lampard though. He is likable and comes across very intelligent in his post match interviews, they aren't just 'erm' and 'y'know'. And obviously his record is insane for a midfielder. He is an English great though, one of the players who I think has come away from tournaments with a bit of credit (Ashley Cole also.)
Should have been Scholes and Lamps in our midfield with Creasehead left out imo. Wasting Scholes on the left wing :o:. England :o:. That goal against Germany still makes me angry now. |
