I don't buy Costa as a top player. He's had one good season. The rest of his career he's been far from prolific.
Should Chelsea not have signed another center half? I know Mourinho and Terry probably wank each other off, but c'mon, is JT really capable of another season at the top flight?

I'm not convinced either Manks, but the only time I've really watched and analysed him was in the World Cup and my God he was shit. I did follow Atletico last year, but I tend to just enjoy the flow of the game more than trying to assess players.

Costa had an incredible season last season. You could argue it's only "one good season" but he does have a decent record, it's just last season was notably better, and he wasn't just good, he was outstanding.

I do agree that Lukaku is one of the best deals of the summer though. Sure it's a lot of money but every big signing now seems to be a lot of money, and with some of the fees paid for young players already this summer, Everton have arguably got themselves a bargain.

CB, Ki should be an incredible signing if you do get him. Seriously. He slipped under the radar in his time at Sunderland in many ways, only really grabbing headlines for a key goal or two. But watching him every week is genuinely a joy. He's patient, he keeps and protects the ball, he usually picks the simple pass but also has the ability to be a little more direct when he needs to be, and he likes to attack. He's box-to-box and he's immensely talented. The papers are all talk of whether or not we'll get a permanent deal for Borini but if we had any chance at all of getting one for Ki, I'd be much, much happier about that.

The Luakaku deal was great business, for Chelsea. He's a good player, but Everton is his level.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. The World Cup, I think, is the only possible evidence of that to date, and he still scored and had a better, if brief, tournament than Costa did.
