Man City did it years ago, in the 1930s. Leeds' defence in the 1992/3 season was piss poor, they were three points away from going down.

I'd place that bet depending on odds. Not unthinkable if they lose Mahrez next month.

Useless factoid but looking at tables has reminded me of it and I was  when I saw this a while back, AC Milan won the league in 1994 scoring just 36 goals in 34 matches. Udinese (who went down that year) scored just one goal less than them.

Defense wins seasons

No way. Palace, Sunderland, and Hull. Palace because **** Pardew, Sunderland because **** Moyes, and Hull because... well it's Hull.

Oh I hate Palace too. Oh, not to have to listen to "Glad all over" again next season! And as for that ****ing announcer! "Goal by Christian Benteke! Christian?" and then the fans yell "Benteke!" Great for those in the team who are suffering from Alzheimers I guess.

I do love Benteke though, was my favourite player during his time with Villa. Hope he moves on if they get relegated. A newly promoted Newcastle might be a decent destination for him next year...

Who is your favourite player now then? Club and non club if it's a player at your club.

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 12-02-2016 08:22 PM

Anthony Martial was my favourite club player but he's barely played this year after being our #1 goal scorer last season :(

Outside of United probably Lukaku or KDB. There's something about Belgian players that make them so fun to watch. Was absolutely crushed when KDB went to City, but he's scored some absolute thunder****s since the move. I still like Benteke a lot too, but he just hasn't quite regained the form he had back when he was at Villa. He's done well this season so far though so I have a little bit of faith he'll get back to it.

Benteke is class but he's a confidence player, his goals often came in patches, score for four games then a five game drought. I remember he was allowed to go back home to Belgium one time because he was so low on confidence and out of form.

What you just said about Belgian players being fun to watch is a bit like what I think about Dutch players. A lot of them are so elegant and have ridiculous technique, van Basten, van Persie, Bergkamp, Cruyff... They seem to produce all these world class players but still haven't won a World Cup. Barely heard of most of their current side though.

Memphis Depay has a ton of potential, was a huge prospect and people are still talking him up like the next big Dutch player but since he's arrived at United he just hasn't lived up to the hype.

Daley Blind has been class for us on defense this season. Definitely not the caliber of Dutch players that were around 15 years ago but still great to watch at their best.

Chelsea are something else this season. Easily the best side. And where does Kante rank in the all time list of Premier Legue CM's if Chelsea go on to win the league and he's the back to back best CM in the division?

Now that Cazorla is out for a few months I expect we might put in a decent winning run, playing some good footy. Xhaka has been awesome lately.
